Are all of these people living here, here?

It has become much more beautiful than when I came the other time. Now, if the house becomes beautiful, the people living in the house ought to become beautiful too; how is it? These days, because you are carrying on activity quite busily, you will have no such thought.

As you know, this place is the headquarters of America and, at the same time, a house that, while the Teacher is in America, will be used in the position of a world headquarters. That is why the people living here—hereafter it will not be arranged so that just anyone can come and live here. This place here is called a hall, but as a meeting place, it is small. Seeing that, one comes to think that one ought to find separately some other place, such a place like a plaza where some four or five hundred people can gather.

Still more, what you must know is that, of the people we are confronting, there are, of course, the established churches, but behind the established churches the communists are connected and oppose us. As you will have heard and know, I am thinking that such a thing as the explosion incident in France will without fail happen here too. That is why hereafter it is easy for this building on Forty-third Street to become the target of the communists.

So even in coming into a room and living here, hereafter no one but a designated person will absolutely be let in here. I see that it must not be done with just anyone coming in like this.

Now, what you must know…. You must know that what the communists fear most is the Unification Church, and the person they dislike most is Reverend Moon of the Unification Church. That I did not stop in Japan this time was because I felt spiritually something of the inner operations the Japanese communists are carrying on and all the operations Chongryon is carrying on.

Now you must know that hereafter the communists will put people in here among our members too, calling them members. It is unmistakable that they will infiltrate, saying they are enthusiastically doing the forty-day workshop or the hundred-and-twenty-day workshop or mobile team activity.

As far as I know, I see that among the members who came into the Unification Church and then fell away, there are without fail communists. So when they carry on opposing action, we must think that they are without fail carrying on such an operation.

When one thinks of such a thing, in Japan too, the Teacher thought that for the Unification Church’s operations hereafter, passing beyond the time of street operations and of witnessing to just anyone, one must as far as possible witness intensively, centering upon one’s own families and relatives, centering upon one’s own friends, and centering upon people whose background one knows; and so he turned the direction of witnessing round completely.

Again, in this America too, as far as possible, one cannot but witness it through people who are directly related to oneself. I think such a period must pass for a certain time. When you witness to a new person in the street, you write down that person’s name, but even in writing the name, he writes a false name. He can write everything wrongly and carry on any play. He can write the address too, all falsely. That is why hereafter, if there is a person you witness to, we have come into a time when one cannot but without fail know his name and know his address and know which school he came from and without fail make contact and clearly sound out that person’s identity.

You young Americans do not know about communism. You do not know what communism is like. From the people in the White House to all the congressmen, they do not know communism well.

In America’s foreign policy, saying some peace with communism or some negotiation is all being swept into their methods and amounts to nothing but conceding everything on our side. For them, it is to erode and overturn the democratic world by using it in whatever way. For that purpose, they speak of this agreement and that agreement, but all such things are empty words.

Now, you must know that if communism has walked out a hundred paces, it can retreat more than a hundred paces, even a hundred and fifty paces. Because they are organized as a dictatorial system, they can take any action whatsoever at a single command. Yet the democratic world is not so.

In America, if one carries out some policy of peace or friendship and then suddenly turns about, there is without fail a side effect. Hereafter, speaking of this New York, for the communists, this place, the Unification Church world headquarters on Forty-third Street, will all become the target of attack.

And all of you, it is unmistakable that the majority of the press world is now flowing in a left-wing tendency. That is why, infiltrating into many fields, these people take any action whatever for their purpose, not choosing means or method.

Speaking of the Teacher, for thirty years until now I have been fighting straight through with the communists. That is why I am a person who knows all their operations and all their methods. I see that there is no place as easy for communist activity as America. Here it is simply wide open, wide open.

Now, seen from such a perspective, when one thinks of national problems and such problems hereafter, what the communists make use of…. You must know that there is much possibility of their carrying out terror in earnest, if possible, through such illegal residents who have come into a foreign country. When the communists organize some secret corps and do such a thing as a riot incident, they absolutely do not have local people do it. They have other people do it. They put them in for several months and work. There are any number of cases in which the communists plan and send people into theological seminaries and make them communist pastors and make them priests.

When one thinks of such a thing, inasmuch as this Forty-third Street headquarters is a place the communists dislike, you must know that in many ways they can put in some person and do anything whatever, and all the people who are here must become guards. You must know that one must become a guard.

What you must know is that, still more, one must be especially careful about these Korean people. I think so. Now the nation called Korea is needed by Communist China too, and needed by the Soviet Union too, and needed by Japan too, and needed by America too. As you know, now whatever communist nation it may be, the object of attack is all America, America. America.

Now, the Soviet Union’s method of propaganda, or Communist China’s method of propaganda, or North Korea’s method of propaganda, or communist nations like Romania or Yugoslavia—the content is all the same, calling them American imperialists (미제국주의자, 美帝國主義者).

You must know that they attack with the same content. Until now in the Soviet Union, the communists have held the confidence that through a peaceful diplomatic policy, through a peace offensive, they will absorb the democratic world.

There is no one who dislikes peace. So in that everyone thinks it is good. They are all caught by that wink. And so, having made all such things as a military prohibition agreement or a nuclear prohibition agreement, is it not a fact that they themselves, saying this is a chance, have until now carried out a large-scale military expansion?

As you know, at present the military power of the Soviet Union surpasses and is ahead of America's. Why is that? Because until now America has come forth saying a peace policy or nuclear prohibition, but they, on the contrary, developed and drove it forward, all of it. And while doing so, they consolidate their bases toward Europe and strengthen their military power, even as far as India, even as far as the Asian Pacific rim. If one looks at Vladivostok, it is a fact everyone knows that they are putting in an enormous fleet and putting in enormous troops.

As you know, after the Korean War armistice agreement, in the twenty years after the armistice agreement of 1953, it is a fact that North Korea has carried out a complete military expansion with which it could swallow South Korea and have some left over.

So it is the policy of communism that, if there is only a chance, whatever nation it be, they seek to conquer it all and drive it within their sphere of doctrine. In a nation like Thailand, the Laotian communist army has at present invaded and is conquering them all. They are raising problems. And so they are making a scene, telling the American troops to withdraw.

What you must know is that however much the Soviet Union and Communist China have divided, they become one in United Nations policy, in the United Nations, in attacking America. One must know this. The communist sphere is all like that. It is all the same.

Now then, how is the democratic world?

The democratic world—beginning with America, France, and all of them—is not on good terms, but is there any one nation that can unite at once because of the communists and attack? That is why communism is globalism.

One must know that it is worldism, worldism. America, which is a nation of the democratic world, is single-nationism (개국주의, 個國主義). One must know that it has until now been going forward as a single-national-entity-ism (개체국가주의, 個體國家主義).

Now, yet in the communist world, Communist China and the Soviet Union fight, but the purpose of which of them will first turn the world red does not change. The purpose of turning the world red does not change. In the end, the purpose of conquering this world is unchanging. Seen from such a perspective, does not this democratic world have no ideological system by which it seeks to conquer this whole world as a democratic world? That can turn about at any time while going along suitably.

Until now in this world, there are many people who think that communist theory is right. They see that communist theory is right but that the method by which the communist nations accomplish the will of communism is wrong. Because they hold such a view of the world, the intellectuals, people who research something and are anxious for the world, are all so arranged as to be drawn that way. You must know that there is nowhere it has not infiltrated—the field of art, the field of science, or various cultural fields, even religion—from the viewpoint that such a communized humanism, the thought of humanism, is the highest ideal man must strive toward.

Now, seen from such a perspective, this democratic world is nothing whatsoever, nothing at all. To say it again, the communist world stands in the position of saying, “We can swallow the world and have some left over.” They hold confidence. In such a field, there is one body and one person who thrusts a dagger here, and this is the Unification Church and Reverend Moon. Seen from such a perspective, before communism, which holds the ability to move half the world, the Unification Church is now an object of attack, and the Unification Church is also the party attacking…. Think of it. Is it a match?

Because communism, in a historical process of close to sixty years until now, is carrying on every sort of intelligence activity through every method of struggle, it holds the ability to make America or any nation be swept into that intelligence activity. To use even one person in an operation, they spend an enormous amount on expenses and research all of that person’s identity from the time of his birth and come forth winning him over.

Now, has our Unification Church such a foundation? All of you communists know Reverend Moon well. They know well what that person is seeking to do. The one who infused anti-communist thought throughout the whole country, in Korea too, was the Teacher and our body. All of you, there is a population of thirty-five million in South Korea, but we have educated two-thirds of that, well over twenty million people. We exerted influence. Kim Il-sung of North Korea knows well that as a result of that, many communists hiding underground were automatically detected. The communist world knows it well.

What the communist ringleader who has become the foremost object of attention in Asia is, is this Kim Il-sung, Kim Il-sung. So the Teacher has until now been carrying on this movement of smashing, centering upon Chongryon in Japan. The Japanese Unification Church and the Japanese International Federation for Victory over Communism have struggled in broad daylight against the Japanese Communist Party and Chongryon. Being equipped with such inner ability as can criticize communism and theoretically rout it by lecturing and propagating in the streets and through the medium of the press, enlightening the whole citizenry, they presented to the intellectuals several times a theoretical struggle over whether the communists are right or our International Federation for Victory over Communism is right, and the communists all retreated. The Japanese Communist Party organ, Akahata (적기, 赤旗), has, for seven or eight years until now, attacked Reverend Moon and the International Federation for Victory over Communism.

Seen from this perspective, in the Japanese Communist Party too, what is the most cancerous existence in turning Japan red hereafter is the International Federation for Victory over Communism. It is the Unification Church. That is why, as you know, all the anti-communist activity done in Japan gets through to the whole world. It gets through to the communists of the world.

What is the greatest distress of the Japanese Communist Party?

In December 1974, they once held such a meeting, gathering the most theoretical scholars from twelve communist nations of the world, to smash the whole theoretical system of the International Federation for Victory over Communism. Yet I heard a report that they retreated, saying that because the thought of the Unification Church is grounded in a deep religious background that they cannot understand, they cannot lay a hand on it. And it is connected straight through from the past to the present. Communism sprang up sixty years ago. That is why they could not but hand down the judgment that this thought is a dangerous and fearsome thing that they cannot permit (용허, 容許).

That is why the Japanese communists say, “Do not meet members of the Unification Church. Do not meet the victory-over-communism personnel, and do not debate, and do not fight. It is a loss to us. What we must do is win by violence and confusion.” You must know that.

In America too, bodies like the so-called parents’ opposition groups and a person called Ted Patrick are all doing so, but behind them it is unmistakable that they without fail receive the manipulation of the communists. For example, there is in Japan a thing called a “parents' opposition group,” and when one investigated its background, among five hundred opposing parents, how many were real parents and elder brothers? There was not one. If there was, there was only one person, only that one person who said one nephew had come into the Unification Church. Now, who manipulates this? It is the communists, the communists. Because that operation of concealment has now come to be exposed, you must know that the Japanese Communist Party and the labor union and this parents’ opposition group are now openly putting up handbills together and opposing.

That is why, what will be the organization behind that body which, carrying on such activity worldwide, activity of the same method, connects the front worldwide and opposes it? It is not Christianity, Christianity. It is the communists. We stand before such an actual state. However much they oppose, none of that opposition holds. We break through. We break through.

Then what becomes of it? To attain their purpose, they carry out terror against the people who oppose them, terror. Then whom do they take as their target? They take Reverend Moon as their target, Reverend Moon. Yet do America’s CIA or FBI or the police protect a Reverend Moon who carries on such an operation? Who protects him? They all oppose…. They look through binoculars and, while suspecting, seek to catch hold of something and snatch him away.

On the other hand, in a place like Korea, because it is already an anti-communist nation and the national policy (국시, 國是) is anti-communism, because a nationwide anti-communist policy is firmly established, Korea is not dangerous. It is not dangerous as it is here. There is no danger of receiving an attack from the communists.

Again, in Korea, if I am in such a position, if there is any danger, the police always feel the duty to protect me. Seeing such a thing, if I cherished my life and feared this, I would stay in Korea—why would I come to this place like a wasteland, to this untrustworthy and extremely dangerous place, and carry on this play?

If the democratic world perishes, Christianity automatically perishes. If Christianity perishes, what God has until now carried out in His Providence for several thousand years collapses with a crash; so you must know that because, for the sake of God’s Will, one cannot but at least act as a guide for defending the democratic world, one cannot but at least present a direction, and one lays down one’s life and carries on this play. If America perishes, Christianity perishes with a crash, so God’s Providence, for which He has toiled through the ages of history until now, collapses with a crash. Therefore, to set God’s Will right too, one cannot but carry on this play.

Now, you must know that the Unification Church, which such a person guides, and this headquarters where such a Unification Church stays have become the target of a concentrated attack of the communists.

The talk of Korea came up just now, but in Asia, on the day Communist China occupies Korea, it can take Japan into its hands; and on the day the Soviet Union occupies Korea, it takes Japan into its hands. That is why I see it that the nations, carrying on a contest with one another, occupy Korea and conquer Asia.

Japan itself too, when it thinks of the future more than fifty years, a hundred years hence, knows that because there is nowhere to go, Korea is necessary to connect with the continent. Again, America too cannot let go of Korea. If it became so and Asia came to be ruled by the communist sphere, on the day even Japan is turned red, the Second World War is nothing. In the Second World War, Japan, as one nation, attacked America, centering upon the Pacific Rim, but at that time, putting Japan at the front and putting the whole of Asia at the front, the Soviet Union or Communist China itself could attack America. One must think of what America would become on the day such a Pacific war arose. If it enters such a stage, the underground organization of communists within America can explode. You must know that we have come to such an age.

That is why the Soviet Union or Communist China cannot but, through Kim Il-sung, contrive by whatever means a scheme by which they can bury Korea and completely occupy Korea. When Kim Il-sung quietly thinks of it, he carries Communist China on his back, but he cannot ignore the Soviet Union either. He dances in the middle, centering on such surroundings. Communist China and the Soviet Union at present stand in a position where they cannot unite with one another, centering upon a border dispute. Hereafter, since the Soviet Union, too, if it would do away with Communist China, must take hold of America and do away with it, and Communist China, too, if it would restrain the Soviet Union, must take hold of America and do it, they are carrying on an operation of approaching America. This is a thing all under heaven knows.

One must know that it is here that Nixon went back and forth and that Kissinger carried on. And so they lost Taiwan, lost Vietnam, lost Laos, and all the small and weak nations of Asia went to the communists…. Such a play unfolded: conceding and handing everything over without fighting. The Philippines became so, and Indonesia…. Because Communist China grows, those nations have become unable to oppose Communist China, to isolate Communist China, and to stand on America’s side and fight. The American sphere has come to stand in a position friendly to Communist China. It is the same with Indonesia.

Seen from such a perspective, is America not now in an isolated position worldwide, before the communist sphere, by the propaganda of the communists? Is it not being driven into a corner most of all in the United Nations? It is such a situation now in which the communists run riot in broad daylight.

So what does Kim Il-sung do?

Because for both Communist China and the Soviet Union, the final target after taking Asia into their grasp is America, he sees it that on the day the North Korean regime first builds a foundation in America, it can cook Communist China and can cook the Soviet Union too. That is why the other day he sent a personal letter saying, “Let us form friendly relations with America,” and made a scene.

What you must know…. The other day the Japanese Prime Minister Miki came, bringing a Foreign Minister called Miyazawa. Incoming, whose personal letter did he bring? He brought Kim Il-sung’s personal letter, and the world does not know this. He came bringing his nation’s Foreign Minister, and you must know the fact that he sent that Foreign Minister out and the two of them handed it over—the fact that Kim Il-sung, through the Japanese Prime Minister Miki—since America regards Japan as most important—carried on such a play of connecting here with Ford.

On the other hand, now in America the North Korean regime is carrying on large-scale activity. Communist China will cooperate in that, and if Communist China cooperates, the Japanese Communist Party and all of Asia will be included, so in the end he thinks that he will play the leading role in binding Asians together. Again, if the American CIA quietly looks at it, something like Kim Il-sung is no problem at all. They think of such a thing, which is neither Communist China nor the Soviet Union, as being about a fly at the tip of the foot.

On the day it becomes so, in activity toward America, Communist China too will spend an enormous sum and say to Kim Il-sung, “Quickly do it, quickly do it,” and the Soviet Union too will spend an enormous sum and say, “Quickly do it, quickly do it.” I see that Kim Il-sung can draw in an enormous sum. Speaking of the Soviet Union, since the Soviet Union is a great power and collides directly, it cannot carry on activity because the CIA watches one hundred percent. It goes underground and carries on activity, but in exchange, if it has Kim Il-sung carry on large-scale activity and then quietly swallows it, it can swallow the whole of Asia too.

Kim Il-sung, because the Soviet Union’s final target too is America and Communist China’s final target too is to take America, intends at that time to step forth and, in manipulating the Asians, carry it all on his back and cross over. So Kim Il-sung holds the notion that if only he isolates Korea from America, he can manipulate Asia.

Because I know that, because I knew that Kim Il-sung, centering upon Japan, seeks to cook Communist China and the Soviet Union, I prepared already ten years ago. So now he is getting into trouble because of me. Knowing that, hereafter America too…. Since I say I will make an organization with American people and give them trouble, I cannot but be an enemy.

So the play of colliding with the North Korean regime in the United Nations…. Because I know that the North Korean regime will make an Asian association to bind the whole Asian people together, I say that I must quickly make an Asian association. That is why I do it. You must know that the Asians within America are in a position of being completely swept one hundred percent into the communist sphere. It is certainly so.

It is not that the Asian people living here in America do not receive ethnic discrimination. Anyone feels that they are receiving ethnic discrimination. It is Asian people whose minds have all come to stand in a position of criticizing America rather than supporting it. On the day the communists make use of such a state, they completely rally Asia.

On the day it becomes so, after completely rallying the Asians, being bound together with the Black people is automatic. You must know that if the communists propagate, citing historical facts, and join black and yellow together and say, “Let us drive out the white people within America,” this gets through a hundred percent. They say, “It was white people who exploited Asia, and it was white people who exploited the whole Black world, the underdeveloped regions of Africa.” Because this is an unmistakable historical fact, the communists will without fail use it as a good weapon. If they say, “Give some enormous financial support from behind, Soviet Union or Communist China. We will become your side,” that is so arranged as to be done.

If it became so—America is now organized as a federal nation, and if I were a communist, I would without fail carry on such an operation. What operation would one carry on—if all the Black and white people “assemble!” in one place, in New York if it be New York, or in the smallest state if it be a small state? They would completely occupy the elections and everything: all the senators of the national assembly; the representatives, of course; and next the state government if it be the state government. They occupy it completely. In the end they say, “The central government is double exploitation, a structure of double exploitation. It must be struck down,” and if one only makes three such states, America is all finished.

Now, does it seem it will be so, or not? Who will take responsibility for and prevent such an America hereafter? The FBI, the CIA, some American military power? No. Who takes responsibility? Because I know that Reverend Moon is now making preparations to block it.

So how does one suppress Kim Il-sung’s stage of activity? I see that if Kim Il-sung builds a foundation in America, it brings about the result of isolating Korea.

Seen from such a perspective, if they know that I know such a thing and am carrying on operations beforehand, someone will without fail assault and attack Reverend Moon. Who is that? That is the North Korean regime, Korean people, Korean people. Would it be so or not? (“It is so.”) So you must be careful of Korean people. My saying not to witness to Korean people—that is not a proper thing to say, but I have come until now unavoidably without explaining such content.

When one sees such an overall situation as this operation of communist attack upon America, you must know that the Yankee Stadium rally and the Washington rally are a tremendous watershed fight in which the destiny of America, or the destiny of the free world, can be decided. If one holds the rally this time centering upon Yankee Stadium in New York and in America, such a comment will come out as, “Ah! There is no one but Reverend Moon as a religious leader.

And next, when one goes to Washington, there is the White House, and there are senators and representatives, and there are the CIA and the FBI, which are the central organs of America, and there are the embassies of every nation. By my holding a record-breaking gathering, the whole will come to be unable not to research Reverend Moon from a sociological standpoint.

Originally, if America went along with people like the Teacher, I know there would be a road for America to live; but because these opposing factions do not understand, you must know that because I see it, by carrying on such an operation and making them understand, there comes to be a road by which America can go to a new dimension; before God’s Will, one cannot but carry on such a tremendous play, staking one’s life.

What I desire is that one must set right the thoughts of such people as the officers of the White House or the personnel of the White House or the congressmen. On the day communism comes into the free world, it is completely smashed. That is why, in defending those people’s thought, one does such work as a religious leader. Why, why must one carry on such a play?

How do the communists think—if they only make fifty senators their side, they can swallow America? That is why, if one would leave America as it is and swallow it, it is enough to make the senators one’s own people, and for that they put in an inexhaustible amount of money. Then is there any way to block it? Even thirty becoming so is a problem, and if fifty become so…. These are completely united. The rest are each their doctrine. They are not all Unificationists. This is completely thirty percent…. In this way one can cook all the remaining senators.

Now, because I know such a danger, I say openly that I will carry on an operation toward senators and representatives, and because hereafter I have a responsibility to defend everything by whatever means, so that I must teach them, I am now carrying on the congressional operation too from such a position. What are our PR teams spending money for, and what for? Is there anything to be gained?

When one says “political,” there is the purpose of grasping sovereignty. One must know that. If one wants to be political, one must say one will seize the sovereignty of that nation, be equipped with preparation for carrying on such a struggle, and carry on a substantial struggle. Do I say I will be president of America? Can I become president of America? Do I say I will be a senator of America? For that, one must settle here for more than nine years as an American citizen. Can one do that? Then what is political? When one cannot be a senator, and cannot be a representative, and cannot be president, what is political? Is there politics without a purpose? Is that political? (“It is not.”)

The only purpose is nothing but to give spiritual education hereafter to the representatives and senators and arm them firmly with anti-communist thought, for the sake of God, to make them defend the free camp.

Is there any senator or representative of America who thinks such a thought, staking his life? Is there anyone who carries on such activity, giving a bad influence to all the people of the communist world at the United Nations General Assembly? Is there anyone who carries on activity while sacrificing everything of his own? If the American government knew such a thing, the president and all the ministers, all the senators, and all the representatives ought to invite Reverend Moon and treat him as a guest such as the nation does not have—far from it…. And yet they are opposing.

I am now training the wandering young people of America and strengthening and defending the line of defense of the communist world. That you young Americans follow Reverend Moon and become one like this is not that you did so, but that God made it so, God, God. (Applause.) That is not what Reverend Moon did. You must know that the person who, in the name of God, trusting in God’s protection, laying down his life and passing through wind and frost, fights on is not a white man but a yellow man. You must know that. Within a short period, even if I am not there, you must make young people who can do more than I. For that, one must make effort day and night without rest. There is no time, no time.

Seen from such a position, you must know that we have shouldered a historical mission. What I am anxious about now is the labor union. I am a person who is considerably anxious about this. I act as though it has nothing to do with me, but I am a considerably anxious person.

You must know that it is now in a position where more than seventy percent of it can be swept into the sphere of the communists. Until now it has been a help in America’s development, but hereafter, when one cannot hand down a new ideological system of America that can digest communism, this labor union will be caught and swallowed in the name of the communists. On that day America cannot budge and falls over. Is there any nation in which the labor union has not become one with the communists? Look whether there is one historically. In whatever nation, is there a nation in which the communists and the labor union have not become one? Can America be an exception? They drive this out with a demonstration operation without even doing it many times. Without even doing it many times, the communist sphere….

Knowing such a thing, one can live only by educating oneself within a rapid period. The American government must do it, and one must do it for the CIA. One must do it for the police and the FBI personnel. They must all arm themselves with anti-communist thought. I see it that on the day one does not build this foundation by 1978, one misses the time. It is the purpose that in this period we arm ourselves ideologically and prepare a line of defense throughout America—do I say I am doing politics? Such a thing is not even in my view.

This is hard work even for the government to do. It is hard work even for the government to do. And yet, to treat shabbily, like an enemy, a person who comes to America and says he will do such work for America’s sake—will that do? Not knowing that he is a guest of whom there is only one in heaven and earth…. The State Department says this must not be and says it will deport him. It says it will deport Reverend Moon. Now the State Department is planning to drive me out. I am hearing it all.

Those people do not know religion. Does religion disappear because the government oppresses it? Does it seem it will disappear because Reverend Moon moves away? It grows stronger. It grows stronger. It is out of the question.

If it becomes so, the enemy of the Unification Church, spread throughout the whole world, becomes America. What will become of it on the day I give the command and every nation of the world demonstrates against the American government? Think of it. The embassies cannot carry on their business.

“Demonstrate before the embassy every day! Do not miss even a day; demonstrate twelve months a year!”—If the Teacher gives such a command, will you do it? Can you do it? (“Yes.”) They do not know such a thing. Yet one endures such injustice and, to fulfill the mission entrusted to me at that time when Heaven commanded, even when they revile, one hears it and pretends not to hear, and even when it is unjust, one endures and carries on this play.

They say that because Reverend Moon supported Nixon, he is a person doing politics; but if Nixon had been left as I supported, Vietnam would not have become like that, and Laos would not have become like that, and Asia would not have become like that. If it had become so, one would have given Nixon ideological education. What do you think would have become of it if he had listened to my words? If he had thus listened to my words, America would not have smeared itself with filth. Is it a boast that the vast America, which stood in the leading position of the democratic world, packed its bundle and fled from Vietnam and Laos? When God looks at that, would He say, “Hey, America, you do well”? Does America go on without limit under such a system of Pan-Americanism? It is the same. If one drives it out of South America, is America not isolated?

Now, I know that several hundred spies have come centering upon the Communist Chinese embassy in Mexico. Again, I know that twenty thousand Communist Chinese personnel have immigrated, centering upon Canada, and are preparing an operation to encircle America. Who can guarantee that a war like the Vietnam War will not break out at that Mexican border? What American can be confident? The Teacher thinks of all such things and that and carries on this play. You must know that when one comes to the world stage, to America, and carries on this play while sweeping about, one carries on this play having investigated all such things. America has nowhere to go. It has nowhere to go.

Now, can the established churches newly save America?

With the doctrine called democracy that has come forth until now, can one newly save the young people of America who are rotting away? It is impossible. The experiment is already all finished. The experiment is all completed. From now on, a new movement must come out in America that can raise Christianity up to a standard beyond the world.

Why is that? That this composite people, this mixed people, could live together was because there was Christianity. Centering upon Christianity’s thought of universal love, though vaguely, they were connected to what is called God’s Will, and if Christianity falls right out…. On the day a rise of ethnic nationalism unfolds here, if a phenomenon of rupture unfolds centering upon such subjective ethnic thought as Anglo-Saxonism or Judaism, it becomes a truly troubled nation. If one would smooth this over, there is hope if a strong new movement, one that can revive beyond Christian thought, appears from the young stratum of America, not from the old stratum but from the young stratum; but if that is absent, America perishes. It perishes. Watch whether it perishes or not.

So the leaders who guide America too keenly require that, and the CIA thinks it and the FBI thinks it. Yet such a body is a body guided by this yellow-race Reverend Moon, and if the young people of America say, “I dislike it,” it perishes. Is that a headache?

Therefore, you must, crushing down this opposing environment with a crash, each appear as a new warrior for such a Will of God, saying that even I alone will take responsibility for this America. We must resolve upon such a thing.

From God’s position, He lost religion, which He regarded as most important and came forth holding hope in. And next, the communists, who say there is no God, have swallowed everything. And next, the young people have all become covered with wounds. They have become animalized.

Now then, would God not have thought such a thought as, Where in this world are there clean young people, young people who can stand in the stead of the government, young people who can defeat communism? How much would God seek? Is that not God’s position? Is there such a person in the world? That is only the Unification Church. All of you, can you carry on a love affair as you please? Even if one tells you to carry on a love affair, you do it? It is so arranged that one cannot. Even if one tells you to run wild as you please, it is so arranged that one cannot.

Do you lose now to Christian believers?

Are you dragged down by those people, and are you less than those people? However strong communism may be, it is less than you of the Unification Church. Can you lose to the communists? That is why you must know that you are the substance of God’s hope in this world. One must hold the conviction that with my hand I will save a perishing Christianity, and with my hand I will save fallen young people, and with my hand I will bring the communist world to ruin.

Now, if one asked the men of government of America, “What sort of young people do you desire? Do you desire such young people as these, or do you desire young people covered with wounds?” Wouldn't the men of government of America, every one of them, and man or woman, the whole American citizenry desire such young people? Well, is it so with you? (“Yes.”) That is why I say do not be disheartened. The press world has made an uproar and a scene and said all sorts of things about Reverend Moon, but you must know that people who think can come to our side unseen and come flocking in any numbers.

Now, did I teach you to carry out terror? Have you carried out terror? Did I teach you to commit robbery? Have you heard of it? (“No.”) Did I teach you to steal? (“No.”) Then it is enough, then it is enough. Now, it is fortunate that these people met me; if they had not known me, there could have been people who would steal, and there could have been people who would rob, and there could have been gangsters. Is this a profit or a loss to American society? (“It is a profit.”) Doing fundraising…. Is this doing fundraising a sin?

One must save this America, but do we have money? We have none. When will we make a factory and earn money and save this America? There is no help for it. There is no help for it. Is there not that road alone? Having won this fight, we shall make factories too and shall bring all the people who did fundraising and compensate them with any amount. Now, because there remains work more urgent than that, there is no help for it. All of you, those people who oppose this and that…. They are a minority, an extreme minority. You must know that, carried on the back of the communists, riding the wind, an extreme minority is muddying this water.

This Reverend Moon, however much he is a yellow man, is a man who exerts influence over the several million young people who are perishing in this century. That is enough. He is a man who exerts not a bad influence but a good influence.

Seen from this perspective, some church pastors say "Reverend Moon"; the president of the New York Times says “Reverend Moon,” the president of the Washington Post says “Reverend Moon”…. I do not listen with my ears. I do not listen with my ears. Am I less than that president? Am I less than that editor-in-chief? Am I less than those newspapermen, the reporters of the press world? I am a person who thinks so.

Now, knowing it thus, you…. What we are now working at…. It is unmistakable at least that we, one way or another, must advance and be victorious for America’s sake, for the sake of the free world, and for the sake of God’s Will. And so, driving off the communists, preventing the corruption of Christianity, and sweeping away the decadent trend of the young generation, let us make an America, a democratic world, a world that can receive God’s praise. That is what God desires. Even though the whole American citizenry does not desire it, the whole of humanity desires it. Do you welcome it? Do you welcome it? (“Yes.”) How much? Even though all two hundred and forty million American citizens oppose it, if we do not lose, if we advance further, they bow their heads. Is that so?

Pulling out all the sparks of unrighteousness upon this earth to rout this, since the command to advance has already been handed down to us, we must go resolved in our lives. We have already ground it all out with the Madison Square Garden rally, have we not? Next, what will you do about this Yankee Stadium rally? (“We will do it.”) Who does it? Who will do it? (“We.”)

One thing you must know. If one is a young American, there is one thing one must know: one cannot but make more effort than Reverend Moon! Why is that? It is your nation, your nation! I am a guest! The American citizenry must desire, and you must desire, that you do more fiercely and more ardently before Heaven’s Will. Then God too acknowledges it and goes together. Is that so? All of you, is that so? (“Yes.”) To be victorious, twenty-four hours…. Now seventy-two days remain, so one must carry on activity twenty-four hours a day.

This New York will once more be struck by a wind. It will be struck by a wind. Through whom? (“Reverend Moon.”) No, no. Through you, through the American citizens…. It is not Reverend Moon. Can that be? (“Yes!”) Let those who can do so raise their hands. Thank you!

So we must become first-rate diplomats. We must become first-rate diplomats. You must know that diplomacy and propaganda, these two, are the most important weapons in bringing victory.

You go to the president of the New York Times here and do diplomacy, do propaganda…. Meet the president of the Washington Post and the editor-in-chief and do diplomacy…. Even going to the White House, even going to the director of the FBI, the director of the CIA…. (He expressed it in action.) There is nothing excellent about them. There is nothing excellent about them. If one meets them and pushes, they are pushed back; it is not so arranged that we are pushed. It is only that we have a little less fat because we have not eaten, and they only have a little more fat.

Now, in thought, or in activity, or in any attraction, or in any field whatever, we do not lose. We do not lose. That is why one must sit astride the top, the top, the top. Even in the history of gatherings, we left a record at Madison Square Garden. And the next one must leave a record at Yankee Stadium too. It is the top, the top. And the next one must leave a record at the Washington rally too. That one held a gathering of one million two hundred thousand at Yoido, which remains a record in the world history of gatherings. That in a short period one raised such a problem in the world is also Reverend Moon’s record. Again, in marrying people off, in getting them married, I am the champion. (Laughter.) In striking down the communists too, I am the champion. I hold many championships. Again, in taking all these Western young people, these fellows who listen to no one, and driving them and making them listen, I am the champion too. Is that not so? (“Yes!”) I am a champion who can be so. I have many championships.

In the world, people talk big even with one championship, but I hold many championships and do not talk big. In exchange, you talk big loudly. “Our Teacher is such and such a champion, and I am a second champion trained before him—come on!” you say so. In earning money for a month too, you have all become champions, all of you. For that, among American people, you are speaking almost every single day. And next, in going about New York busily too, you are champions. If one held that many championships, one would be dignified before anyone. There is nothing to be daunted about.

Perhaps even in eating rice, among the American citizens, the members of the Unification Church would come first in eating rice quickly. (Laughter.) Others say one must chew long so as not to get an upset stomach, but if there is nothing to go in, is there anything to upset? Now, seen from such an aspect, we have already equipped all the requisites by which we can be victorious.

Now, all of you, joining your hands like this, regard all this New York as fish and catch them…. Casting the net like this and driving them in all at once…. Then how good would it feel? Merely to hear that said, merely to think of it, is it exciting or not exciting? (“It is exciting.”) The world will say it is dying. (Laughter.) They oppose us and make a scene, but we are fine people.

All of you, when one looks at a wrestling champion, at wrestlers, the champion comes out into the ring going “Grrr,” but one must have the fight and see. One knows only when one has done it. Does it not fit exactly?

All the people say, “Reverend Moon is now fighting to hold a gathering at Yankee Stadium; what will become of this? Well, he will fail!” but a fine fight unfolds.

I should like to see it. After the Yankee Stadium rally I should like to see once that happy face. Because it is too astonishing a victory, I should like to see such a face, blank, overcome with happiness, unable even to laugh and unable even to cry. Being glad and giving congratulations of joy, if one says, “Hey, dance once!” the people of the world stand in a row and dance, but all prostrate themselves…. There must be some other way to express it. Prostrating oneself and rolling…. (Applause.) So that dance—if one names it “the Yankee Dance,” that will remain in history. (Applause.) Why is it called the Yankee—because one does it to commemorate the victory of the Yankee Stadium rally? One calls it the Yankee Dance.

And so if this dance becomes famous and the whole world comes to research it, if it is said that it began with Reverend Moon, Reverend Moon will become famous. What was until now dancing standing up becomes dancing twisted, and again, because that fell over, now a dance of restoration rising comes out. Until now, dancing was done above and then came down, and it was the twist, and after this twist there was a dance of twisting and falling over, and since one had fallen over, it was now all finished. And next a new dance of rising comes out, and that is the heavenly kingdom dance. Our Korean Folk Ballet team here does not prepare again at night. There perhaps be someone who says, “Oh dear, I, beginning with myself, will become the ancestor of the Yankee Dance.”

Now, from now on only advance remains. Let us advance! Since we have already proclaimed and stepped forth that we have appeared as standard-bearers to save the young people of America, and newly revive the Christianity of America, and abolish the communists upon this globe, now let us advance! Amen! (“Amen!”)
