Why Your Daily Life Is Now a Greater Offering Than Any Sacrifice

It is my thought that hereafter the long-standing family members of our Unification Church will step out onto an international stage. At such a time, what you must consider is that you are entering a time when you must put into practice the life of attendance; you must know this.

Then, if one is to live a life of attendance, whom must one attend first?

One must attend God. Where does the purpose of attending God lie? Finally, it is so that I may prosper. What must one do to prosper? One must receive God’s love. Without receiving God’s love, however much one strives externally to prosper oneself, if one does not become a person in whom God’s love can dwell, one cannot prosper.

That the Unification Church has walked a truly difficult road amid persecution, yet has not perished until now but has developed, is because it was within God’s will and, therefore, in a position to receive God’s love. An organization or a person who receives God’s love, God protects. Is that not so? My friends, is it not so? A beloved child, the parents always think of, even when the child does not think of them. Is it not so even in the world? Even between husband and wife, concerning a beloved wife or husband, even when the person concerned does not know it, they think of them and bless them and seek to add every road by which they can help. We come to know that this is bound by the love of husband and wife.

It is so with the nation too. When there is a heart that loves the nation, the citizens, moved by that heart of loving the nation, come to receive blessings through that person. They come to receive blessings because of a person who loves the nation. That is why one must desire that all the citizens of that nation become patriots. If patriots increase, that nation prospers. Why is that? Because, by God’s love, every existing thing of a nation was originally born protected within God’s love.

Therefore, toward a being who receives still more love before God, one is drawn without knowing it. People are drawn, and money is drawn, and every existing thing in the universe is drawn.

Of course it is so with this substantial world, but the spiritual world too is drawn. As one grows and receives more of God’s love, one automatically becomes a central individual and can become an organization. Furthermore, if one lays a foundation on which one can receive love through the citizens, one becomes a nation that can move the world.

Because this is the principle, you must live the life of attendance. So, setting before us the question of why one must live the life of attendance, you must know that it is to receive God’s love.

Therefore, one must attend God first. One must attend God.

What must one do to receive God’s love?

Inasmuch as God comes to us human beings with perfect love, we must invest in something perfect. There is a Korean proverb, “Utmost sincerity moves Heaven,” and that is truly a saying that penetrates the heavenly principle. In the “offering of devotion” of giving all one’s devotion, one gives all that is within and without.

Furthermore, one offers up word and deed and thought and action and all practice, and even the whole sphere of our conscience within and without, all together. That is devotion. “Jeong (精)” refers to the spirit. “Seong (誠)” is the word radical with the character for accomplishing. Therefore, it means to accomplish everything within and without and offer it up. Only when it becomes so does Heaven feel. Heaven is moved.

By Heaven’s being moved, what happens?

He thinks of that person and not only thinks of him, but when the thought always dwells there, love comes seeking there. When the thought of the whole dwells there, love comes to be connected here. Is it not so, my friends? Where there is thinking, a person’s heart moves.

That is why one can receive God’s love only by standing in a position of offering devotion. It becomes like this. Just as God loves us human beings, if you offer up everything in devotion for God, then, by at last feeling God’s love, you can love God.

Originally, because of the fall, you yourselves cannot love God. Therefore, by offering devotion for God’s sake, God’s love comes seeking me, and through that love I come to know God and can love God. The source of love is God.

If we trace the history of this love, love set out from God, but setting before us the question of where it was transferred to after setting out—looking at the ancient age of Adam and Eve, it was transferred to Adam. Through Adam, the history of love has been connected. What this means is that God’s love has been connected through the father.

Next, that love through the father comes to be transferred through the mother. And so, the love of mother and father joins together and bears fruit. By the two becoming one, the original deep love of God’s object partner can be held there.

That two people, husband and wife, can at last become the second protagonist of love in that place where they love and receive love from one another—this is the Principle view. The first protagonist of love is God, but the second protagonist of love begins without fail from Adam and Eve’s becoming one and thereby becoming parents. Therefore, what are parents? They are the second protagonist of love.

In that way, the history of love comes from God through the parents and reaches the child. This is the traditional history from which love originally derived.

Then when we seek to receive this love of God, how must we receive it?

This is the question. Until now people have believed in religion, saying they will be saved, but what is being saved? It is receiving God’s love.

To whom have they believed for that?

Until now, they have believed in a founder of the way; it comes to this. There is some master of that religion. What sort of person is that master of the religion? Because human beings fell, their parents disappeared. They are orphans like wanderers. Because they are such people, unless God lets them receive a bond of love in place of parents, they cannot enter the sphere of Heaven’s love, the way of internal salvation.

Therefore, He sends such founders of the way and, setting the founder of the way in a position like that of a son who receives God’s love, and setting people in a position of believing in that son, has him stand in place of the father’s mission. And so, in the end, what seeks to enter secondarily within the sphere of God’s love is religion.

Still more, looking at such a place as Christianity, it has furnished this. The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit… That Jesus believed and came forth from the Son to the Holy Spirit, centering on the Father spirit and the Mother spirit, is astonishing. Seeing this, this is not a game human beings played. Heaven furnished one religious form upon the earth as a matrix that could realize every such ideal of love, and what was so arranged that there was a form of a protagonist of love like a second God could of itself be left behind is Christianity. That is why the logic that Christianity can become the center of all religions is likewise established here.

Now, since God’s Providence of love comes through such a derivation as this, what our Unification Church members believe until now is that they believe in God and also attend Parents centering on spirit and flesh. This is an astonishing thing.

For a spirit person who has gone to the spirit world or a human being upon the earth, what is the highest hope? To receive God’s love. What is the strongest desire? To receive God’s love. But until now, speaking of Christianity today, the standard of the spirit world was divided. Until now, it was a historical age in which human beings, however they sought, however they wished to have them, could not have Parents who could receive God’s love as a spiritual and physical substantial being. But the fact that, coming now to the age of our Unification Church, we can have such an origin of Parents centering on spirit and flesh is an astonishing fact.

That is why, as to who is the responsible one upon this earth today who can bridge God’s love to a stage of completion centering on spirit and flesh, it is the Lord who comes. The Lord who comes is the protagonist upon this earth. Then, with what does he act as the protagonist? Not with weapons, not with power, not with any words. Love, love. When that character is perfected from a publicly recognized position of love, this penetrates everywhere, for ten thousand generations. There is nowhere it does not penetrate. Spirit world or whatever, royal palace or earthly world, it penetrates everywhere.

Seen this way, what all humankind today desires is that they are seeking the protagonist who is to come hereafter. Who is that protagonist? He is Father and Mother. That is why, speaking of Christianity, they concluded bridegroom and bride well. So who is the Lord who comes? He comes as Father, and who is the bride? She appears as Mother. When they appear furnished with substance, God’s love at last sets out through them; it becomes so.

Our Unification Church today believes in receiving God’s love, but in believing, how must one believe? How must one believe? Now, if what stands upon a foundation of spiritual and physical perfection in a position like the second master of this love, centering on God’s love, is the True Parents, then we come to the conclusion that there is no road but to give utmost sincerity centering on the True Parents.

What this living is is what the Unification Church calls the life of attendance. In the past, people faced the spirit world and faced God and offered devotion and offered some sacrifice or other—the old woman of Nonsan killing a pig and offering sacrifice and so on—but it is all right not to do that. Now what becomes the sacrifice? My living can be the sacrifice. Living beautifully within that sphere of love and living a life that can establish authority as a person who receives that love is better than sacrifice. Better than sacrifice. Because such a time has come, you must know that you must live the life of attendance.

Then what sort of living is the life of attendance?

It is a living of giving utmost sincerity. In the past, people faced God spiritually and offered devotion, but today one offers filial devotion before substantial Parents. The road of giving that filial devotion with utmost sincerity is the beginning of giving loyalty for the nation, and this is the game the saints and sages who represented all nations played before all people.

Therefore, the fact that today, from a plane-level position upon this earth, one attends the Parents and gives filial devotion is a value by which one can inherit the way of a loyal subject of the nation and can inherit the way of a saint of the world. That is why holding the name of a filial child before God, or before the True Parents, and receiving public recognition as a filial child, is a thing so great and astonishing. If one comes to stand in that place, Jesus too will envy it, and you must know that any founder of the way of the historical ages until now will envy it. Do you understand what I mean? “Yes.”

Now between the True Parents and you, firm as iron and stone… This relation cannot be cut by anything whatsoever in this universe, and here there is no objection. Concerning one’s own mother and father, can there be a logic that, through explanation, can say it is not so? Can one say it is not so by force? There is no such thing under heaven.

Just as God too cannot do it and no one else can do it, so if you offer devotion and become one with the True Parents, no one can follow this. By having here the highest devoted foundation that I alone can have, what comes about is that God’s love comes to dwell in oneself through the Parents.

By standing in such a place, you yourselves at last, centering on God who centers on the love our Principle teaches, centering on God’s love, centering on Adam and Eve, the True Parents, at last come to have love dwell before yourselves and thereby can complete the Four Position Foundation. You must know that this is the place of attendance in the Unification Church; do you understand? “Yes.” There is no other road.

Now you must receive God’s love. Do you understand? The road of receiving God’s love is principled, principled. God’s love begins with Adam and Eve. If they become completely one, because they become a subject-object relation that can be one with God, they become the second subject. Thereby they become the organ of God’s love clothed in substance.

If, centering on that organ, one gives utmost sincerity and carries out the way of filial devotion more than people of old believed in Jesus, more than they offered devotion toward the way, one can automatically enter within the sphere of God’s love.

What is still more thankful is that in the past, however much one offered devotion spiritually, there was no subject that could give a response to that devotion. But now it is not so. Since there are Parents, if one offers devotion to those Parents, those Parents respond spiritually too; and if one meets them substantially, however first a meeting is, those Parents like having one beside them. It is so with a person who has offered devotion.

People who say, “That one, that one, why does he turn up?” are people who have not offered devotion. A person who has offered devotion is not disliked, however often he is seen. He is not disliked. However shabby the external appearance, if that person’s original nature offers devotion before Heaven, because he stands in an object position before the subject of love, between that perfect object and the perfect subject, God’s love naturally wells up and acts. Therefore, they naturally become one. If he is not there, one feels the lack. The world holds no savour.

So what is the most interesting talk? The Parents’ words, the talk the Parents give. Is it not so? And what the Parents like most is talk of what the sons and daughters are now doing, talk of boasting, and talk of things going well—you must know that this is the parents’ delight and God’s joy.

Then where is the heavenly kingdom?

It does not fall from the sky. The heavenly kingdom is where the arena of living in which parent and child give and receive is large, and the place where one can enjoy a hundred percent of the delight of using all the created beings within it for our living and using them as conditions of our ideal—that is the heavenly kingdom. Do you understand? There is no separate heavenly kingdom.

That is why, even in doing work, how good is work done for the Parents! One knows that. Furthermore, even if I do other work, however much I toil, because I do work of astonishing value by which, following the Parents’ command, the heavenly way can be made clear and all people can be liberated, how thankful and how blessed this is—one knows. So when a living unfolds in which one gives thanks though it be difficult and gives thanks though it be easy and cannot hold complaint or dissatisfaction, that person is a person of the heavenly kingdom; do you understand? “Yes.”

That place is not so vague a place as you think. Directly, Father and Mother strike against my skin and strike against my spirit. If one feels them stimulating me with an explosion of the heart’s emotion, that person is already a person living within the heavenly kingdom.

If it becomes so, the moment one faces a person one knows, one knows at once, “That person is a bad person, and that person is a good person.” If it becomes so, it is the Principle view that you will find you have entered within a sphere of direct dominion of a dimension higher than you can imagine. Do you understand? Try living that way.

If you say, “Ah, I offered devotion for three years to give this thing to the Teacher, to the Parents, and yet how can I manage to take it and give it?” and a person in the west faces the east, and a person in the east faces the west, gazing toward the heaven where the Parents are, and whenever you look at nature, sending off all four seasons of the year, the more the seasons change, the more earnest your heart becomes accordingly—then it penetrates directly.

Being thankful to have received more than one wished to give… The more one goes forward holding such a heart, the better the work goes and the brighter the whole spiritual world becomes. Finally, it is devotion. You must know that it is devotion. A person who sets his eyes and looks in the mirror and feels such a heart as, “How many times have these eyes shed tears longing to see the Parents? How much has this mouth cried out for the Parents’ resolution and fruition of han? How much has this ear awaited hearing the Parents’ joyful news? How much has this hand shed blood and worked in the Parents’ land? Have I offered my whole self and worked upon the foundation the Parents desire until the bones of my body are crushed? That I could not do so is my han”—a person who knows that seeking that road while feeling such a heart is happiness, and that binding a bond with Heaven on that road is the happy road, is truly a happy person.

There is no one to rule over that person. The only one who can move that person is the Parents, and the only one who can move that person’s heart is the Parents, and the only one who makes that person happy is the Parents.

Furthermore, it is so with the parents too. The only one who can make the parents happy is that son. The only one who can truly gladden the parents is that son. If there is a desire of the parents, it is not elsewhere, not in the parents themselves, but in that son. Then all is done. You must know that thereby a road opens here by which one can succeed to those parents’ generation and inherit the succession of the heavenly kingdom for ten million generations.

That is why from now on one must center on the life of attendance. It is so between husband and wife too. Looking at how husbands and wives have lived until now, even looking at these thirty-six families, to my eyes it is a mess. The father is not together with them. In words they say they are together, but in fact they are not together.

If one takes hold of something between that husband and wife and pulls it up this way, is there anything by which the two are stuck together and lifted? There is not. There is nothing whatsoever. Nothing at all. One’s own assertion remains one’s own assertion, and as subject and object they have not become one in heart, and there is nothing bound before Heaven. If one fishes this up, it is just as it was, and nothing has changed from the old.

If one lifts this, I mean. There is no family where one has the sensation that the lot comes up hanging together. Why is this? It is because they have not had such a principled love. It is because they have not stood in a place that has passed in the living of attending God. Hereafter you must make a special effort in such an aspect.

Waking or sleeping, in that person’s thought there must be the thought of being together with Heaven, together with the Parents. “Those Parents came seeking after several thousand years”—think of that. To come seeking after several thousand years, countless good forebears paid the price of sacrifice, and countless worlds perished until now, and countless nations staggered and rose and perished again and rose, walking a winding course of difficult passes. And so, those Parents whom we have been fortunate to attend, those Parents whom one wishes to attend and offer devotion to before anyone else, so that, turning those Parents back from the road they were going, they could come seeking even to our thatched house and stay—if only one could attend such Parents… One must live a living that can be so. It is so even in farming. “Ah, when the Parents come I must offer this to them”—this is the way of heaven and earth. By heaven and earth is meant heaven and earth.

What is the way of heaven and earth?

It refers to the road by which two become one and go, that is, the road of love. Is it not so? It is so. That is why, if there is love, everything becomes happy. If love disappears, everything becomes unhappy. If there is love, everything harmonizes; if there is no love, it becomes a desolate wilderness. Is that not so? The problem lies there.

When the Parents come down from Seoul, one must have a heart that can run even a hundred li, wanting to hear the Parents’ words. If they say there is news from Seoul, centering on that news… If there is news conveyed through a district leader or a church leader, one must become a person who can say, “I must go first.” Why can one not do that? Our Unification Church members hereafter cannot but manifest such a heart in the arena of living.

If one furnishes just this first, one will not be ashamed, however one goes out before foreign family members. For instance, whether eating rice or drinking water, wherever one goes, sitting or standing, facing whomever, if one can show before them the childlike heart one has before the Parents, that is, full marks, full marks. One does not need some other thing like much knowledge. It is not a matter of having much knowledge; a doctorate does not get one through. That is needed when fighting and when gathering things up. In living, does one live by a doctorate? Would one live saying before God, “I am Doctor So-and-so!”? A father is a father. Does one say to one’s son, “Hey, Doctor So-and-so, Doctor of Philosophy So-and-so, Doctor of Mathematics So-and-so”? Does one? All that is unnecessary, in fact.

That is why the only road by which I can draw God’s love is “Utmost sincerity moves Heaven”—there is nothing but that.

Looking at water, one thinks of the Parents; looking at anything… The Teacher is such a person. He truly likes Cheongpyeong. He is a person who likes nature. Alone, one feels dull, but when one gazes at nature, one comes to feel varied stimulation. “Ah, how beautiful it is that each of them, in its own way, is manifesting its form of existence for the protagonist within this universe!” Concerning himself, the Teacher feels everything as such a subject and object.

Looking even at a mountain, it looks truly pitiful. Though it stays still, an inspiration comes as though it were calling. It calls so. When nature shows such a thing and I come to feel it, I cannot but bring it. Ordinary people do not know that. A person who has not felt such a world does not know. You must think of such things.

In other words, the life of attendance is not far off. The history of God’s love comes through the father and the mother, and when these become one, it appears as the second subject of love. If they had become one through this subject, there would have been no fall, but this was broken. So the work of expanding the object horizontal foundation centering on the True Parents’ love to reproduce this is the history of the Restoration of the Unification Church. Inasmuch as it is so, you must know that only by furnishing such an arena of living is the realization of the heavenly kingdom on earth possible for you.

The heavenly kingdom is nothing special. It is attending God and attending the Parents and living loved—is there anything more than that? Is it not so? Attending God, attending the Parents, and then if one can love one another, that is enough… That is the heavenly kingdom; it is nothing else.

Centering on this, you must apply this love to husband and wife and apply this love among fellow workers. Just as I wish to see the Parents, the Parents wish that one love one’s brothers more than oneself. If one knows only that, it is enough. It is so, in fact. If one says one is filial to one’s own parents yet fights with one’s brothers, that filial devotion is not established.

That is why the parents’ heart wishes that brothers care for one another more than they care for the parents themselves. Even if one cannot look after the parents, if one says, “Mother, wait a little. I will go and love my younger brother and come back,” they say. “That fellow, he is a fellow who will be worth something hereafter.” Is that not so?

In the same way, a person who says he will love his brothers more than his parents is a person who can live eternally within the boundary of the heavenly kingdom. A person who cannot love his brothers as he loves his parents departs from here.

This is simple. It is simple. If one awakens to the root of that way, it is simple. Because they did not know this, they could not do it until now. The question is whether, knowing this, our family members become one with one another or not.

If one has stood in a place of not being able to be filial before the Parents, then give to one’s family members, in place of the Parents, what one has offered in devotion for the Parents. Then Heaven receives it as more than filial devotion to the Parents. Such a person is without fail blessed.

What is the most important thing among blessings?

It is not money. Nor is it honor. Nor is it any sort of power. It is that one’s sons and daughters turn out well. Do you understand? You must know that. What is the best blessing among blessings? It is that sons and daughters are born able to receive Heaven’s love. That is being born well. Then what happens? If that son receives more of God’s love than I… Is it not so? When you look at something like a power line coming down this way from the other side of a mountain valley, like a transmission line, it sags, but if one pulls it taut here, it becomes tight. Is that not so? In the same way, if a child receives much of Heaven’s love, even though I have fallen that far behind, I can be drawn right up. One receives the benefit. If three generations develop increasingly beyond oneself, then one can leap over a whole generation in Heaven. One can leap over several thousand years, like the formation, growth, and completion stages.

Therefore, what is the foremost blessing among blessings?

Not money. Not power. What is it? It is a blessing to have excellent sons and daughters within God’s love. When the Teacher thinks such thoughts and quietly observes our children… I have considerable interest in that aspect. Well over ten million in gold—how will the son to be born next be born? Looking at his wisdom, at the way he thinks, I know, “Ah, this is how I am going on now.” One knows it without fail. One must without fail have sons and daughters born better than oneself…

Still more, seen centering on the Unification Church, you are nothing, but if you lay such a foundation of heart directly centering on the True Parents, they are born bearing the fortune of the way of the Unification Church. They are born bearing the fortune of heaven and earth. Looking at those parents, they are—what shall I call it—like a bean pod, you know, the pod with the beans gone out of it? They are no more than that, yet how are such sons and daughters born? A physiognomist knows that, and a fortune-teller knows it all. How are they born? They are born bearing the fortune of the way of the Unification Church, the fortune of the way.

Seeing such a thing, “Who recognizes me?

I am aggrieved; I had a hard time. I have been in the Unification Church for so many years and am treated this shabbily!” — Those are all people who do not know. People who do not know. If God recognizes my parents and I recognize me and my sons and daughters recognize me, that is enough. One must not seek to be recognized through someone else. One must say, “Let the person beside me recognize me if he will and not if he will not.

If God recognizes me, and the Parents recognize me, and the sons and daughters recognize me, that is enough. If the sons and daughters recognize me… Then, whatever the people of the world may say, if this becomes one and they are happy together with me and thankful together with me, that becomes a happy family. Is it not so? This foundation that realizes the ideal of the Four Position Foundation is perfected.

Who recognizes me and who does not, and what is this and that… Those are all people who have not reached it. Knowing such things, from now on you must live such a life in the family. Realize God’s love.

Where does God’s love come from?

The secret of its coming is nothing else. One must give utmost sincerity to the Parents and give utmost sincerity to God. Giving utmost sincerity to God is vague, but if one gives utmost sincerity to the Parents, because the fortune moves on the plane level, in every respect there is much that one grasps at once, intuitively.

To give an example, the Christians of the past. In climbing this way, they offered devotion. Climbing in reverse from the individual to the national standard is the course of Restoration through indemnity, is it not?

So how difficult it is. If one climbs one stage and then, mistakenly, falls one stage, one cannot climb up. One circles about there and ends one’s life. If one offers devotion and goes through several stages and then falls again here, one perishes there. How many thousands of years did it take to climb to the national standard? Thousands of years, do you say—it took hundreds of thousands of years.

Now then, how greatly they suffered until now, centering on a spiritual standard! That is why in the past, even believing in Jesus, it was truly difficult to attain the way. To receive direct guidance was truly hard. Still more, it was truly difficult to feel the heart-called love. Can that exist principally? It is a fallen sphere; can God’s original love dwell here?

Religion until now was not God’s love; because of God’s love, it carried out a history of indemnity. If one had not known, one would rather not have suffered. By believing in religion, one is rather punished. What punishment? Satan makes a general attack, and in the world there is no end to games of being viciously punished now. They have come forth playing such games of being punished.

But now, in this age, in our Unification Church, it is plane-level, plane-level. Because the standard centering on the True Parents has been made, if you offer devotion for only one week, it penetrates; it can penetrate. The Parents, without fail, appear. The Teacher appears and teaches. You do not know what a revolution this is.

Do you think it was easy for people who believed in Jesus in the past to meet Jesus spiritually or in prayer?

One had to offer devotion for seven years, twenty-one years, to meet him a few times. And so he taught what could move one stage by stage. But for Unification Church members today, it is all too easy. This is because we have entered a stage that is all too easy on the plane level.

Furthermore, because we have entered an age in which we can be connected centering on God’s love, wherever God’s love goes, the whole satanic world is naturally liberated. Is that not so? Where God’s love dwells is a sphere Satan cannot invade. Is that not the Principle?

The Principle refers to what was shaped in the sphere of completion. The sphere of completion is where the Parents are, and today, if one stands in that sphere of completion where the Parents are, then even though the sons and daughters are unperfected people, they are within a sphere of protection where they can receive the parents’ love. Therefore, the conclusion comes out that if one only holds fast to the Parents, however Satans swarm, one cannot fall there. Is it not so? Inasmuch as our church is a place where that is possible, if you do not grasp that heart through experience here while you are alive, when you go to the spirit world, you do not know whether it may take tens of thousands or tens of millions of years. You must know that you are experiencing such a feeling while upon this earth is the astonishing value of this age of wearing a body today. Once one takes off the flesh, it is impossible.

What will you do?

One does not live eternally upon the earth. In this short period you must do this. It is not that one does it because one lives well, nor that one cannot do it because one lives poorly. Utmost sincerity alone suffices for drawing out the heart of love that attends the Parents, in whatever circumstance one is placed.

Therefore, from now on, you must expand the sphere of the life of attendance. This is our mission, crossing beyond the national standard toward a worldwide age, and we must establish this tradition. On the day you establish this tradition, hereafter you will not be ashamed, however many people in the world may come. You will be more than able to establish your authority with dignity.

Just as, like the branches of a tree, the trunk comes out from the root, and when the branches spread, the leaves come out in sequence, all people are ordained to be grafted and hang upon your tradition; it will not do for someone to come in backwards and say, “Ah, I will become the trunk.”

Knowing such things, from now on you must truly live the life of attendance. You have come to live the life of attendance. Through the whole week until now you have been bowing in reverence and all, but there are some Blessed Families who say, “Oh dear, it would be good not to do that.” Not at all—try holding a heart that can stay awake through the night, waiting for that day to come and await the hour and sit up and prepare for that hour while keeping the night bright. You do not know how blessed that hour is.

What the church tells you to do is all to tell you to hold such a heart of loyalty as can stand in place of your life. What is loyalty? Loyalty is to establish the central heart. Is this not loyalty? What is the central heart? It is not one’s own heart. The Parents are the center. God is the center. Is not establishing that heart loyalty? Is it not so? It is so ordained.

So, knowing it thus, you must know that by living the life of attendance, you can be within the sphere of God’s love, within the sphere of God’s protection. From now on, I consider that you must do this.

So the Teacher’s family too—I have told Mother all of this—hereafter we will try as far as possible to avoid complicated environments more and more. I alone can feel such a state, but in order that Mother or the children may live a living of that state, a living that can be simplified is necessary. Living must be simplified.

How does one live a life that makes the will foremost?

For that, the school or the kindergarten too must be a school and a kindergarten that make the will foremost. All the environments of living too must be furnished and lived in by such people. This becomes the problem. How to form the atmosphere of living is the problem. It is so in the school too… And then I am thinking that the environment one meets in living throughout one’s whole life must quickly be made into an environment that can be so. Therefore, if such a thing not in accord with the principle and rule exists and one comes to stand in a position where it becomes a burden of heart and one can receive a wound of heart, this is a great blow.

When one thinks of all these and other such questions, now when the second seven-year course ends, the third seven-year course… Seen principally—Mr. Choi here spoke of it today too—seen principally, this must be indemnified and its han resolved and brought to fruition. Then what is it to resolve and bring han to fruition?

It is to say that because spring has been met again (재봉춘), the han is resolved and brought to fruition. Is it not so? If one has lost something, only by finding what was lost again, better than before, is the han resolved; can the han be resolved otherwise?

Then the question is how today can become such a day. Jesus originally came to find the nation and came to find the church. What is one thing to do by finding the nation and the church? He meant to find the world. Therefore, if he could find the church and find the nation and find the world, Jesus would succeed. But he could not do it. Through death he lost the church and lost the nation and lost the world. And so, dividing in half the foundation centering on spirit and flesh, he cultivated a second movement of finding the church and laid even the foundation of a movement of finding the nation and of finding the world. This is two thousand years of Christian history.

That is why, to resolve and bring to fruition Jesus’ han, what must be done?

Upon the foundation of having found the church, one must find again a foundation on which the nation and the world can be found. One must do more than that from such a standard. This is what the Teacher has done until now in our Unification Church. What has he done for the past thirty years? He has played the game of climbing in reverse. It is ordained to unfold horizontally, centering on the nation; one cannot go individually.

So, standing on a spiritual standard, until 1972, he played the game of re-indemnifying all your families. That the Teacher went to America in 1972 was because, at last, centering on a spiritual standard, all of us stood in a subject position in the Republic of Korea. In the Republic of Korea, anyone must come to be able to say, “As a religion too, the Unification Church; in anti-communism too, the Unification Church; in loyalty too, one must be like them.”

Such a traditional standard has already prepared a spiritual foundation that can be revealed within this Korean sphere. The spiritual foundation has laid a foundation that anyone can think of that way. Still more, our families are casting away all their sons and daughters… This may have raised one irrational phenomenon, but before thinking about people within this nation, this people, it is revealed as an astonishing thing.

Centering on such a national spiritual foundation, up to 1974 we completely drove the worldwide Christian spiritual foundation and drove in all the Christian fortune of each nation. Through the second mass wedding ceremony, and this time the third… We drove it all in. We drove it completely into Korea and connected it with this nation.

This time of connecting with the nation is, seen on the spiritual standard, a worldwide fortune, and seen on the physical standard, a national standard. On the day that the physical standard is connected with the spiritual world standard, a departure of the physical world becomes possible.

In other words, just as, after Jacob was victorious at the Jabbok River, Esau submitted, so now if we push forward to the whole world… What did Heaven counsel Joshua and Caleb, who headed for the blessed land of Canaan? “Be strong and bold! Under heaven, who besides you can withstand? Be strong and bold!” So you too must hold such conviction and, connecting it in this way, stretch out to the world.

That is now, centering on the first of May… Today is the day on which our association marks its twenty-first year since founding and the day that concludes the second seven-year course. Furthermore, it is the time when the Teacher’s departure crosses into the thirties. This all fits together. What Jesus could not do at the age of thirty must be restored once again. Because Christianity does not believe… To restore this, centering on Christianity, it is like a twenty-one-year history, but centering on the Teacher’s single generation, it passes through a thirty-year history.

So now the time has come to cross beyond the nation. But that place is not the place where Jesus died on the cross; it is a place where, accomplishing the will of the cross, nation and church become one and go to the world. It becomes like this.

What sort of time is now?

Seen from the present position, Christianity is in a position like that of Judaism. So if we become one with Christianity and become one with the nation, that would be ideal… But there is always Cain. That Cain strikes Abel.

If one can embrace a nation one stage higher there and cross over, then, however Christianity opposes, Christianity comes into our bosom. It is so ordained. Therefore, that is completely the opposite of Jesus’ age.

Setting before us our thirty years of history, there was an age when Christianity and the government became one and attacked the Teacher’s single person. Passing through such an age, we have passed through an age of attack on the whole Unification Church. But this has now become entirely different. The fact that, even though the church opposes it, the government has become completely one with us, testifies that the time has come to ride over the national standard centering on substance.

Because such a time has come, we must now lay the road that Jesus could not lay, of receiving the nation’s welcome and being able to go to Rome. If, through the foundation of a national standard, I go to America again and only conclude the three-year course, within three years the standard of Restoration of the spiritual and physical worlds will be concluded.

If America only settles its place to a certain degree spiritually and physically, the communist world can be gathered more than gathered without difficulty. But if this cannot be done, it will not do. I consider it possible. You may say, “A tremendous world-central nation, moving within three years…!” but within one year and four months “Reverend Moon” has become famous today. You do not know it, but he has become famous.

“Dear me, he went to Asia and then went to Korea and raised a problem again”—everyone hears the news, and the people who took an interest are all now blowing their trumpets. The opposing factions too are now watching what Reverend Moon is doing. When the government and the public, the whole citizenry, are taking such an interest, at such a time we make films and make full use of it all. From our mass wedding ceremony and from the banquets and the revival meetings held this time in Japan or America and such, we quickly make it all known to the whole world.

We must send a bundle of film to each of the missionaries who have gone out to each nation. If we circulate all this, anyone will publicly recognize that the very prestige of our Unification Church has had its foundation prepared worldwide. Thereby, from now, a foundation has already been laid on which subjectivity can be fully furnished for pushing forward on the worldwide stage. Furthermore, the Unification Church has now made the young people of the world into young people of hope. If we go only a little further, all under heaven will be able to recognize it publicly.

Seen from this point, America now is the same as Rome of old. Because there is the Communist Party, it is now in a position where it cannot but hold on to the Teacher. It is placed in such a position now. Seeing this, the days ahead are not far off. The resolution and fruition of han done today is, from such a position, to find the church and find the nation and find the world—to find such a standard as this; and what that is is to accomplish the national standard of Adam and Eve that would have been accomplished in the Garden of Eden without the fall. If this nation, the Republic of Korea, comes to have subjectivity, the nations of the world can now be completely pushed aside. If, right now, we enter a place where the head of each nation can issue an official document for the Unification Church of America, the American State Department cannot stir. It is all solved at once. That is not far off. You do not know it, but now…

Seeing such things, the Teacher has now established prestige regarding the spirit world. Countless founders of the way have, in the end, all laid bridges from collateral positions for the sake of this one Unification Church. So this one original main current has not bent. If the main current is not to bend, there must be cooperation from all directions. Otherwise it bends.

We have liberated all the countless collateral religions that so sacrificed themselves. How greatly have the angels toiled until now in the work of recreating Adam! But they could not resolve their han. It is so with God, and so with Jesus, and so with countless religions, and so with the Parents.

So what the Teacher did today was a ceremony for the resolution and fruition of God’s han, and then a ceremony for the resolution and fruition of the Parents’ han, and then a ceremony for the resolution and fruition of han representing the whole world.

This, like mother-son cooperation, is the position in which Won Bok stands. If the mother stands in this position representing all people, the condition of the resolution and fruition of han must be done substantially. Because by holding such a ceremony we opened the gate even to the satanic world, the Satans cannot oppose to the end. You have furnished a posture of opposing them, but the aftermath remains. Even though a nation has become an independent nation as a sovereign state, if it does not promulgate a constitution and that is not applied, it simply goes on by the old law.

Now if one opposes and seeks to ruin Heaven, in the end the more one opposes, the more one’s blessing is taken away. Do you understand? That becomes a horizontal ceremony of handing over. In the past it was indemnified and disappeared, but now the more they oppose, the more blessing is taken from those people. Therefore, Satan does not mean to oppose but means to flee. Do you understand what I mean? He becomes afraid for no reason.

The moment he meets a Unification Church member, his heart sinks. In the past it was the reverse. One’s heart sank at a single word from the chief of a police box, did it not? Now you yourselves are dignified without knowing it. As I spoke a moment ago of laying the road in Korea. Ah, wherever under heaven I go, I have come to have confidence. It is so. One has come to have confidence. It is like having confidence if one were born a man holding the royal authority of that nation. Such boldness arises. That is why, when they face us, the evil side is uneasy for no reason. If one takes a firm posture and pushes hard in the name of God and the Parents, it is pushed back. Go forward holding such conviction. Now such a time has come. That is why this is completely crossing over.

At present, it is a standoff. Because it is a standoff centering on Kim Il Sung of the Communist Party and a standoff in Japan and in America beginning with Asia, by doing it this way we cross over.

If God crosses over and the Parents cross over, and then we set it all up in a place where this Unification Church can cross over and go, everything is drawn in. As to where the weight is, this side is heavier; is the world heavier? It is ordained to be drawn in. This world will before long be conquered within the will. What remains at the last is the problem of the Communist Party.

If only this Communist Party were removed, the whole world under heaven would be conquered before our name of unification.

The time has come when all such a heavenly kingdom on earth is possible, but what I am most anxious about now, setting before me you who attend the Teacher, is the fact that your attitude of living until now must be completely revolutionized. Making a nest among yourselves and… That is not being for Heaven. Centering on this principle of love, you must examine and constitute your families once again and establish a new tradition and well prepare the origin of the life of attendance.

Otherwise, I hope you will understand that hereafter you will be put to shame before the Gentile nations, before foreign family members. You understand, do you not? “Yes.”
