In essence
- Why He Prayed in the GardenThe plea was not fear for himself but worry over who would carry the sorrow, and that those following him would have to die too.
- Who Is My Mother, My Brother? Not a rhetorical question: he had no family able to console him, and being disowned by his own kin was part of the grief.
- Forgiveness Needs Full KnowledgeLarge forgiveness becomes possible only when someone’s circumstances are known completely; heaven pardons people because it knows exactly what they face.
- Hardship Mine, Gladness TheirsTake difficulty as your own and hand gladness to parents, brothers and friends — that is what knowing another’s situation looks like in practice.
01Jesus, disbelieved by the Jewish people
Because Jesus came upon this earth and was hung upon the cross and died and, after resurrecting, ascended, he is placed in a providential destiny of having to come again.
Among the people of Israel, who had long upheld the will of God’s Providence, Judaism, which was chosen, had a mission to accomplish God’s will and prepare a foundation of victory. This was God’s desire in choosing them, and it was also their hope.
Hoping for the one time when such a will would be accomplished, God sent Jesus, the only begotten Son, in whom He could trust and who could carry out the whole task of realizing the ideal of creation. Therefore, God had to manifest Jesus before human beings as the master, and had to accomplish the blessing He had intended to accomplish through Israel, and had to conclude the will of God’s historical Providence of salvation.
Yet why did Jesus depart without being able to accomplish the will of Providence upon this earth and form an ideal garden in which God’s glory could be sung? This cannot but be a content that draws forth sorrow in us today.
The course from Jesus’ coming to this earth until his death was not the kind of course of life walked by human beings living upon this earth today. He passed through a position more difficult than anyone’s, a life lonelier than anyone’s. Moreover, Jesus was one who appeared as a single being within one realm of a generation and one realm of time, bearing God’s will and the ideal of human beings in his person.
Yet there was not one person upon this earth who recognized the value of such a Jesus as the value with which Heaven beheld him. Not only that, human beings could not attend to Jesus as the central being of love who could connect God’s love to all humankind.
That is why Jesus lived an indescribably wretched life. He was a Jesus who could not set up any one person as a friend and pour out his sorrow. You today must know that Jesus thus lived more pitiably than anyone.
That Jesus came to fulfill God’s will and for God’s glory ought to have been the joy of the people of Israel and the joy of the Jewish religious body and of the humankind of the world. And he, the only begotten Son of God, ought to have appeared as the protagonist of all humankind. Yet why did that Jesus live a pitiful life of hunger and sorrow?
The age has changed, and history has passed, but you must become people who can grasp through experience (체휼) the grief and loneliness Jesus felt while he lived and who know how to feel his pitifulness. Yet if you do not become sons and daughters who can return glory to God by fighting Satan and winning victory on behalf of heaven and earth, there is no way to resolve the grievance of Jesus, which is bound up with sorrow and loneliness.
Jesus’ hope was not to fulfill his desire but to realize God’s ideal of creation even at the cost of sacrificing himself. Because human beings, who had been set up as the central beings of the created world, fell, God carried out the Providence of Restoration for four thousand years to realize the ideal of creation, and Jesus appeared, taking responsibility for the error of the fallen human ancestors and taking such a will of God as his ideology and his own goal.
Yet the people of Israel did not know such a Jesus. Not only that. The Jewish people did not know that the single person of Jesus stood in place of the historical hope and at the same time stood in place of the whole will of God at that time.
Jesus was one solitary and lofty (孤高) individual, yet he himself was one who bore God’s eternal ideal, able to stand in place of history, able to stand in place of present reality, and at the same time able to stand in place of the will of the heavenly bond. Yet the people of Israel and the Jewish religious body, who had upheld God’s will, did not know that Jesus was such a one. And so, far from cooperating with the road Jesus walked, they openly (公公然) obstructed and persecuted him.
02The heart of Jesus, who died on the cross
Then what was the sorrow of Jesus as he beheld such a people of Israel and such a humankind? It was not a grief in which he sorrowed only at the environment visible at that time. Jesus’ grief was a grief that stood in place of the grievous heart of God, who had carried out the Providence of Restoration for four thousand years since Adam’s fall, and a grief that stood in place of the grief of the countless prophets and righteous forebears who had toiled while passing through the long historical process of four thousand years upholding God’s will. We today must feel that Jesus was such a one.
Then to what degree was Jesus’ grief?
Because Jesus was one who came bearing in their place the four thousand years of God’s grief and the grief of the millions upon millions of prophets and righteous forebears in the heavenly world, God, and the millions upon millions of saints and the heavenly hosts and angels knew Jesus’ grief.
Jesus’ grief was not grief for himself; it was grief for the people of Israel who were killing him, grief anxious for the Jewish religious body, and grief anxious for the worldwide road of the will. Though the people of Israel and the leaders of Judaism ought to have understood such a heart of Jesus and then reflected and repented, no one among them understood Jesus’ grief.
Since the Jewish religious body could not accept Jesus as the Messiah, this Jesus, who came bearing a heart of historical han (한) and a heart of longing for the human beings of the earth, Jesus’ sorrow became still greater. Not only that, since the people of Israel and the Jewish religious body, who ought to have fulfilled God’s will centering on Jesus, forgot the will of God’s hope which He had set up and came to stand in a position of betraying Jesus, we must know that Jesus could not but pass through a life of shedding endless tears of grief on behalf of God’s tears for a lifetime of some thirty years.
You must know the fact that Jesus, during the three-year public course in which he toiled to fulfill his mission of introducing the Father’s circumstances and heart while bearing an aspiring hope, endured the welling up of grief and underwent a wretched and grievous sorrow in which he could not but be driven and pursued through the garden of Gethsemane to the summit of Golgotha.
Then where lay the reason that Jesus offered the fervent prayer in the garden of Gethsemane,
“My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not as I will, but as You will” (Matthew 26:39)?
It was because he was anxious about who would take responsibility for God’s grief and the grief of the millions upon millions of saints and the grief of all human beings, and because he knew that if he died upon the cross, the countless saints who followed him too would have to go the road of death. That is why Jesus, with a grievous heart welling up, came to make such an appeal before Heaven.
Jesus, who died grievously upon the cross standing in place of God’s grief and human grief and in place of the grief of the teeming multitudes of later generations—you must not behold such a Jesus only as a historical Jesus but must become successors of Jesus who can seek and manifest to this world the form of Jesus, who may be placed in the same circumstances as at that time once again in today’s reality. Otherwise, the han and grief of Jesus, bound up within history, cannot be resolved.
Until now, the saints who believe in Heaven have striven to become such successors of Jesus. Further, we must resolve the bound-up grief of Jesus, and we must dissolve even the grief that would be passed on to our descendants.
This present age is the “Last Days” of which everyone speaks and which many prophets foretold, and it is the “time of the Second Advent” concerning which Jesus said that after being cast away by the people and the religious body and dying, he would come again. Then, meeting such a time, what must you do? You must be able to comfort the Jesus who will come, and you must become people who are more earnestly anxious for Heaven’s will than the Jewish religious body and the Jewish people of Jesus’ time.
03The saints of the Last Days, who must take responsibility for historical grief
For you to comfort the Jesus who will come again, you must become one who can inherit the great legacy of the heavenly bond, which was severed by Jesus’ death, by standing in place of and taking responsibility for not only the four thousand years of historical grief for which Jesus took responsibility but also the six thousand years of historical grief, adding the two thousand years in which even the Holy Spirit came and grieved after Jesus died.
We who face Heaven cannot live a life only for ourselves, escaping the historical bond. We must become people who possess a heart that takes responsibility for the Cosmos and takes responsibility for the future and that, standing in place of the six thousand years of God’s grief and the grief of the heavenly hosts and angels and in place of the grief of all people of this earth, knows how to grieve over and be anxious about human beings remaining within the realm of the fall while looking toward God’s day of judgment.
Furthermore, we must become ones who can say to Jesus, “I know your grief and the circumstances by which you came to die,” and who grasp through experience the circumstances and heart of Jesus, who agonized to fulfill his mission of atoning for all human beings with a fervent heart when he came to this earth.
Unless one becomes such a person, even if you wish to attend Jesus—the protagonist of history, the protagonist of the Cosmos, the protagonist of the ideal of the future—you cannot attend him, and you cannot resolve such grief of Jesus.
What you must know today is the fact that Jesus was shut within four thousand years of grief and for a lifetime of some thirty years walked the road of death on behalf of all people and of posterity. Therefore, staking such historical circumstances, crying out, looking up to Heaven, and riding over this and reaching even the realm of the ideal of creation (創造理想圈), you must set up a new standard of faith and live a demonstrable life in which you can offer up even your life. Otherwise, you cannot become beings possessing eternal value.
Then what attitude of heart must we hold as people of faith?
Just as among the chosen people of Israel there was a Jewish religious body entrusted with the central mission, so today too, in bearing the mission of worldwide Israel centering on Christ, there will be some representative religious body.
That is, because history unfolds bearing contemporaneity, God cannot but set up one religion that bears the mission of the Last Days and brings providential history to its conclusion. We who have met such Last Days must seek such a representative religion. If we were to seek such a religion, we must trace, as a historical lesson, the historical error that Judaism committed in Jesus’ time.
They were seized by an excessive consciousness of authority and put human thinking first, and by being excessively bound to ritual and regulation, they lived a life contrary to the law of the heavenly bond. In this day, placed at the Last Days too, such a thing will occur.
And what we, placed in a worldwide age of consummation, must know is the fact that, because the Lord who comes again comes treading exactly the road Jesus walked, he comes to this earth crossing over a worldwide pass of grief.
Just as Jesus walked the road of suffering through the opposition of the people of Israel and the Jewish religious body and was in the end driven through the garden of Gethsemane to the summit of Calvary, so the Lord who comes again will pass through the opposition of worldwide Israel and of a Judaism-like religious body and cross over a worldwide road of Golgotha.
Today you must grasp through experience God’s grief in many respects. You must grasp through experience the grief God felt in beholding the people of Israel and the Jewish religious body, grasp through experience the grief God felt in beholding history, and grasp through experience God’s grief in being anxious about the future. Only when you become such can Jesus Christ, bound up in grief, come seeking you.
Further, you must be able to resolve the whole historical grief of six thousand years, adding the two thousand years of history since Jesus. Otherwise, you will not be able to cross over the road of Golgotha together with the Lord who comes.
The saints who follow Jesus have not known until today that his heart became Jesus’ grievance when he faced the figures of the three disciples who dozed and did not hear his voice as Jesus appealed toward Heaven in the garden of Gethsemane, and the figures of the disciples who mocked and blocked the act of Mary Magdalene when she, knowing the heavenly value of Jesus, poured perfume upon his feet and wiped them with her hair, thereby confirming the glory of the Lord who would resurrect.
Jesus Christ felt a grievous heart while walking a lonely road that no one recognized. But Mary Magdalene alone comforted and was anxious for such a Jesus and could grasp through experience Jesus’ heavenly inner heart, which stood in place of past and present and future; that is why Jesus bestowed a blessing upon her and could set her before God’s will with the grace of rapture.
04The heart and circumstances of Jesus, which must be grasped through experience
If so, with what heart must we, placed at the Last Days, go forward?
Just as Mary Magdalene, longing for the form of Christ who walked a grievous and weary road of toil, forgot all her position and dignity and face and went seeking to the tomb with an anguished heart to find Jesus’ body, and at last was granted the glory of beholding the resurrected Jesus, so we must hold a heart more fervent and grievous than Mary Magdalene’s. If we do not become such, then even though we have found the Lord, we will be unable to attend to the Lord eternally.
Therefore, to meet the Lord and be embraced in his full bosom of love and sing God’s glory in the garden of love, you must possess a heart that can comfort God’s grievous heart of six thousand years and the grievous heart of Jesus Christ, and that can also comfort the hearts of the countless saints in the spirit world. When you become such, God and the saints of the heavenly world will welcome you, and Jesus and all people will welcome you, and you will be able to go beyond the position of Mary Magdalene and form an ideal stage of living within the realm of God’s glory.
Then what you must know today is the fact that your physical bodies, which must recover the six thousand years of sorrowful history, are not placed in a position cut off from the outside. God is one who dispenses transcending history. Therefore, you too are connected to the past and the present and the future. Not only that, each of you as an individual is forming relationships of front and back, left and right, above and below. You must realize this fact for yourselves and must not judge everything carelessly and act without discernment.
You must not forget that you must accomplish in your individual selves God’s will of seeking to establish eternal value transcending history. Then, so that all humankind may welcome the Lord who comes again bearing the han of the pain and grief Jesus underwent, you must be able to stand in place of the pain and grief he underwent.
For you to fulfill such a mission, you must first know what the cause was by which Jesus came to walk the road of suffering. It arose because the people of Israel and the Jewish religious body, and even the chosen John the Baptist and Jesus’ family, forsook Jesus. You must grasp, through experience, such circumstances of Jesus.
Therefore, for us today to stand in place of such suffering of Jesus and to resolve Jesus’ deeply bound grievance, we must fulfill the responsibility of attending to Jesus on behalf of Judaism, the central religious body that forsook Jesus at that time.
And you must be able to fight the world alone for the sake of Jesus, who was betrayed worldwide, and must be able to step forth saying that you alone will block any betrayal for the sake of Jesus, who was betrayed by the Jewish teachers of the law. You must know that such a road is the road of Restoration.
Not only that, you must be able to indemnify alone in your generation all those conditions of disbelief by which even the family of Joseph and the clan of Joseph, who had prepared for Jesus’ birth while foretelling the one day of victory, betrayed Jesus and thereby established a condition of victory. You must know that if you do not become such, the Lord who comes again cannot have an ideal people and religious body and family.
Furthermore, we must know that Jesus did not walk only such a road of grief. Jesus was one who walked an infinitely lonely road as well. Because Jesus wished to make the will of the whole known to the human beings of this earth but could not because there was no one able to receive it, he was in a situation where he could not but feel an indescribable loneliness.
You must know that Jesus, when opposed in this walled town, went to that one; when opposed in this district, went to that one; and wandered this street and that, anguished because he could not relieve his loneliness and because he was a Jesus who wandered seeking the foot of the Mount of Olives to find people who would recognize his grievous circumstances. Though he was a Jesus who came to this earth bearing Heaven’s love and the bond of the heavenly bond, at least you today must recognize and comprehend those circumstances in which he bore a heart of grief and solitude unprecedented and unrepeated in the historical course.
If there were a person who felt such a heart of Jesus and lived from a position of being one with such circumstances of Jesus, that person could commune with Jesus in heart through this single word, “O Lord!” or “Father!” Yet until now there has been no such person. Therefore, you must become such a person. For that, you must be able to transcend history and transcend environment and grasp through experience Jesus’ solitary heart.
05The new religious body, apostles, and family that attend the Lord
Jesus was a lonely one, the protagonist of grief, the prince of grief. He was an indescribably pitiable one. You must know that however pitiable a person, or however lonely a person there may be upon this earth, there is no one more pitiable and lonely than Jesus.
God was anguished because there was not one person who could grieve on behalf of Jesus and could be grievous in Jesus’ place, and was still more anguished because there was no one who sincerely believed in Jesus. Therefore, you must bear in mind that there remains for us the mission of grasping through experience the hand-bound heart of Jesus, who came with an anxious form to seek human beings who would commune with the heavenly heart and form a bond of original nature and return the glory of victory before Heaven, but could not accomplish that will, and of standing in place of the heavenly heart.
And you must fathom the form of Jesus, who toiled to accomplish God’s will, and must know how to sympathize with the pitiable Jesus. Until now we thought that after Jesus ascended, he was only at God’s right hand as the Lord of glory, but as it turns out, because Jesus could not fully accomplish the purpose for which he came upon the earth, he is a pitiable one who, even having gone to the spirit world, prays for us in the form of an atoner bearing the sins of all people.
We must believe in and follow and attend to such a Jesus within our actual lives. Therefore, you must live a life that can stand in place of the pitiable Jesus, who underwent worldwide grief, cosmic grief, worldwide loneliness, cosmic loneliness, and you must become ones who can live sharing joy and hardship with Jesus.
You must know that now is the time to ask and answer for yourselves and discern whether you have become such a self. Then what must we do hereafter—we who must inherit as a legacy that eternal will Jesus sought to establish upon this earth and must accomplish God’s ideal of creation? What is the condition indispensably required here?
A religious body and apostles and a family must appear that can attend the Lord who comes to conclude the six thousand years of history stained with disbelief and sin. Therefore, if we today are to be for God’s will, we must transcend the denominational bonds of the past and furnish the standard of a new religious body that can stand in place of historical faith in today’s reality, and must form the standard of apostles and a family that can bear the evangelical mission of the future, and thereby accomplish an eternal foothold of victory and be able to form God’s ideal garden.
Although at that time the world and the people, the religious body, and the family betrayed Jesus, who came for humankind and the world, and even his chosen disciples disbelieved him, at least you today must become Jesus’ friends and be able to comfort his circumstances.
Jesus, who grieved as he beheld a world and a religious body and a clan that betrayed him, ought to have had parents who could commune with that heart, but it was not so.
As in the words of the Bible read earlier, when someone said to Jesus,
“Your mother and your brothers have come,”
Jesus said,
“Who is my mother and who are my brothers? Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Seen through these words, we can know that Jesus had no parents and brothers who could sincerely comfort him. Because Jesus had no true parents and true brothers, he was in such a sorrowful and lonely and pitiable situation, and he came to be cast away even by his clan.
He was even betrayed by John the Baptist, who ought to have made straight the road of the Lord, and so Jesus came to bear an indescribable han. You must grasp through experience such a heart of Jesus and commune with Jesus’ circumstances and, further, must be able to inherit all his ideology.
Although Jesus’ family and clan were astonished at the miracles and signs that occurred from the time of Jesus’ birth, they were ignorant of God’s Providence and could not uphold Jesus as the Messiah. Originally, they should have realized Jesus’ heavenly mission and prepared the road before him and prepared the environment and become the foothold of Jesus in accomplishing the will of Providence. Had they done so, there would later have been no need for Jesus to go separately and find and establish apostles.
Because Jesus was established through a lineal bond passing through more than sixty generations from Adam to Joseph, had his family and clan guarded him and formed one clan-level realm that could stand against and fight the disbelieving religious body and people and world, Jesus would by no means have stood in a grievous position.
06The family-level environment the Lord of the Second Advent will seek
Then what will Jesus seek when he comes again to this earth?
Because Jesus had lost the family-level environment that could fight the satanic world together with him, when he comes again, Jesus will first seek a family-level foundation that can block his grief and pain.
Therefore, you must become one in heart with Jesus and be able to play the role of such a family-level fence. This is because the absence of such a family-level fence became Jesus’ grievance.
If at that time true sons and daughters of God had appeared who could become Jesus’ family-level fence and could stand in place of Jesus’ heart, able to say, “Jesus is my true Lord,” Jesus’ grievance would never have arisen. Therefore, you must become such people as can be the family-level fence of the Lord who comes again.
Had some brothers been able to console Jesus’ grief, Jesus’ han could have been resolved centering on such brothers. Not only that, had the Jewish people, centering on Jesus’ clan, become Jesus’ disciples and collaborators, Jesus’ gospel would at that time have spread beyond the Jewish religious body to the world. Had it become so, Jesus’ gospel would not have been spread beginning from the Gentiles. Yet Jesus had no such clan and people.
When the Lord who thus died grievously comes again, what must we do?
As the Lord returns and accomplishes God’s will, we must, whatever difficulty we collide with, stake our lives and become his family-level foothold and clan-level foothold. This is the mission of the saints placed in the Last Days. Yet regrettably, the saints today do not know this.
Now you must be able to pray, “Heaven, entrust to me the grievance of six thousand years. Entrust to me the grief of Jesus. Entrust to me the grief that is in the heavenly world!”
You must know that Heaven is seeking at this very hour a person who can thus grasp through experience God’s historical grief and Jesus’ lonely heart and circumstances, and that He desired this yesterday and the day before and a year ago and a thousand years ago and two thousand years ago.
Therefore, you must possess the heart of parents and be able to stand awed by parents, just as Jesus, even while passing through the garden of Gethsemane and walking the road of an offering on behalf of the people and the road of death at Golgotha, did not resent the disbelieving people who made him walk such a road. Not only that, but you must also feel the position of the bridegroom and bride and must also feel the position of the heavenly family and the heavenly clan.
When it becomes so, Jesus will come again to this earth and build an ideal family and clan centering on you. That time is precisely the Last Days. The family of hope that God desired since the creation of the world, the ideal family He desired as the ideal of creation, has not yet appeared upon the earth. Only when a being appears upon this earth hereafter who grasps through experience one hundred percent the grievous heart of God and Jesus will the grievance of God and Jesus be resolved.
Then, you who have gathered here unlike others! What is the mission you must carry out? You must bear the mission of believing and attending, escaping from that position in which, when the Lord came two thousand years ago, the teachers of the law and the priests of Israel and the family of John the Baptist disbelieved, and he came to die upon the cross. Jesus at the time of his death upon the cross was pitiable and a grievous one. Only when we, placed in the final period of six thousand years of history, know how to commune with such a heart of Jesus, can we rightly attend to the Lord who comes.
07The standard of life Jesus established
What standard of life did Jesus, who came to accomplish God’s will, establish? Jesus was one who established a standard of life in which he could cast away everything that was not the will. Therefore, you too must establish a standard of faith in which you can renounce your ideals or desires that do not befit the will or any condition whatsoever of the world.
What is it that you today think is the best thing?
But if it is not proved to be eternally good in the heavenly world as well, it cannot become perfect.
Therefore, you must know how to renounce upon the earth everything that is not the will, to possess what is of value and will remain eternally in the heavenly world as well.
And you must be able to renounce any habit whatsoever that does not accord with the heavenly bond, and, just like Jesus, who walked the road of Golgotha alone even though all people cursed him as a wicked fellow and cast him away, you must become sons and daughters who walk the road of God’s will at the risk of your lives. You too, who walk the road of the will, will at some time be cast away. You must be resolved for that. This is because this world is a sinful world, and because it is a principle that the bond of the heavenly bond can by no means set out from a position that conforms to this sinful world, so that you who walk the road of the will cannot but cast away this sinful world. That very time is the time when you come to be cast away by the world.
In the process of thus walking the shortcut that accords with the law of the heavenly world and reaches the kingdom of heaven, there is a historical path of tears, a historical road of Golgotha, a worldwide road of Golgotha. We who have set out seeking that road must, even if we are rejected and cast away by the world and the church and the family, rather consider it to be persecution and mockery standing in place of six thousand years of history and be able to hold a heart of hope.
You who have gathered here, unlike others, do not grieve because there is persecution. Even if you weep, do not weep thinking only of yourselves. Rather, you must be able to pray before Heaven, “To resolve Jesus’ grievance and to resolve worldwide grief, I will go forward without minding any position of pain whatsoever!” And you must be able to pray, “A worldwide pitiable position—I will not mind even death! For this work I will cast away all my desires as well!”
If you thus do not discover a new self that can cross the pass of human ethics and commune with the law of the heavenly bond—that is, if you do not become selves who manifest and act out in body and mind, just as it is, God’s heart, which can stand in place of the glory of resurrection—you cannot be restored to human beings who have completed God’s ideal of creation, original human beings furnished with original nature.
The greater the mission you have received from Heaven, the greater the battle with the evil world for which you must take responsibility. You who have gathered in this place today must not seek to fathom the eternal heavenly bond with your notions of faith held until now. Just as the Jewish people, who so fervently awaited the Messiah appearing in place of the eternal heavenly bond, could not receive Jesus, who came as the Messiah, if you too, with such Judaism-like faith and a doctrinal viewpoint of Judaism centering on the five books of Moses, set up and harden a standard of eternal ideals, you too will fall, without knowing it, into the pit of death like the Jewish people.
Therefore, you must bear in mind the words Jesus spoke:
“He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me….” (Matthew 10:37).
If Jesus, passing through a course of life of some thirty years, had not walked the road of Golgotha but had lived a life of looking only to himself, he could not have carried out God’s Providence of salvation.
Then what kind of time is today, the time of the judgment of the Last Days? Today’s age is an age like that in which Lot lived in Sodom and Gomorrah.
Therefore, you must become people who, today, placed in the final period of history, can entrust everything before Heaven and live according to Heaven’s command. If not, you will be placed in the same situation as Lot’s wife, who was swept into the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Furthermore, you must not take a position like that of the Jewish believers or the Jewish people who disbelieved Jesus. And you must not yield to Satan for even a moment, and you must not forget the fact that at this very moment a decisive battle of life and death is unfolding.
08The true life of faith that welcomes the Lord of the Second Advent
Then, in this battle with Satan, what must be done so as not to give Satan an opening through which he can attack from above and below, front and back, left and right? You must stand in the position of parents and brothers who can fathom Jesus’ grievous heart and be able to shed tears together and comfort one another, and you must become comrades who can be moved together by the heavenly grace that melts bone and flesh.
If there is difficulty, one must take it as one’s own; if there is joy, one must turn it over as the parents’, the brothers’, or the friends’; and just as Jesus loved humankind, you must become ones who well recognize the difficult circumstances of your brothers.
Forgiving greatly is also possible only when one comes to know that person’s circumstances one hundred percent. God forgives human beings because He knows human circumstances.
Therefore, you must know well not only the circumstances of your brothers but also the circumstances of Jesus and make a heavenly family and form a clan that loves and is for one another and accomplishes upon this earth the world of goodness that Jesus sought to restore.
If the chosen saints of the earth today unite and form a heavenly family and from there a heavenly clan and a heavenly people and appear representing the world and six thousand years of history, beyond the dimension of a people, just as Jesus represented a people and four thousand years of history, God’s act of judgment will be withdrawn.
When such a thing takes place and your families and clans and the whole become one, the Jesus who departed will be able to appear in glory. To achieve such a standard today, we have hung out the signboard called the Unification Church.
And we call one another family members. As these words say, we are family members. As brothers who are not brothers, as a clan that is not a clan, we are becoming one brotherhood and one clan and are forming an Israel that takes responsibility for the will of the heavenly bond.
For this work, we must walk the road of pioneering while grasping through experience Jesus’ grief, and we are in a position of having to pass through a course of battle with Satan and go forward to the position of completing God’s will. Only then will we be able to welcome with joy the Jesus who departed grievously. You must bear this in mind.
END OF SERMON
