In essence

  1. Restoration Demands CompletenessIt was attempted through brothers, then twins, then contention in the womb; each standard having been passed, the next is bride and groom.
  2. Minutes That Hold Six Thousand YearsWhat looks like a brief formality carries every turn of the long history behind it; the clock measures one thing and heaven another.
  3. Ten Years, Twenty, Then My ChildIf a decade does not finish it, then two; and if a lifetime runs out, the task passes to a child and continues by succession.
  4. Do Not Hand the Sorrow BackThe point of taking up the assignment is that the one who laboured through history is not left carrying the grief again.
1

There is something the members must know. As I spoke this dawn, having called Hak Ja’s mother, in going forward to accomplish this great Will hereafter, if one is to set up some standard before the Will and cross over, there will of course be people who hold the name of children, and there will also be such people as Heaven must lay responsibility upon and set up.

01To Establish the Will, One Must Hold a Grim Resolve

2

Yet those people who have been set up have parents who bore them in the world. Yet it means that Heaven does not seek to regard those parents as parents. In establishing this new heavenly Will, one is cold. That is to say, it means that one cannot but go forward holding a standard of heart such as has not been in history.

3

That is why hereafter, if there are close relations or parents of a person who has been set up, whether they be people who believe in the Unification Church or people who do not, I shall not permit them to come seeking and say that this is their own son or daughter, or that this is a relative. It means that I shall not permit entering and leaving by the back door.

4

That is why today I called Hong Soon-ae and told her to hold a grim resolve hereafter. And so she herself vowed that from today she would live with a bond that has no relation whatever with Hak Ja. Hereafter, the Teacher too perhaps presses forward in such a direction. Why is that? It means that only by first setting Hak Ja’s mother in such a place does it become a condition for later generations. That is why I made the promise, telling her to be resolved, since one does not know what sort of work she may be set to for about three years. So it means that to establish some Will, one must know how to do such a thing fully.

5

That is why you who are members too must not hold worldly feelings toward Hong Soon-ae and hold the impression that she is someone’s mother. Seen now from Heaven’s side, I mean, Heaven does not permit the standard of a mother. It means that Heaven must stand in such a position. That is why I hope that you will not face her hereafter holding such a feeling. Only by firmly taking hold of such a standard does it become a model hereafter for people who enter and leave by the back door in later generations. Soon-ae too must be resolved on such a thing. Do you understand? (“Yes.”)

6

Though you have suffered until now to come seeking the road of faith, since the whole of all that suffering was done for the sake of one Will, hereafter, in this field of accomplishing the Will, whatever adversity one collides with, one must hold a heart of gratitude and strive to cross beyond that standard which Heaven desires. Do you understand? (“Yes.”) Since she promised that she would move with thanks for whatever she is set to hereafter, I hope she will go forward so. Do you understand what the Teacher is saying? (“Yes.”)

02Upon the Course of Restoration There Are Many Difficult Crises

7

Those who have come from the provinces, raise your hands. Lower them. Those who came without receiving contact from anyone, without receiving contact from the headquarters church here, but who could not but come because they were moved in prayer or in mind—stand up, and let us see how many there are.

8

Why have you all come when there was no contact?

9

The crowd of the Unification Church is truly a headache.

10

If one only seeks to do something a little, they keep gathering again…. Those here who are not Unification Church members, stand up. (“Is there no one who has been two weeks or three weeks, a month, since first beginning to believe?” [an officer member]) “How many days has it been?” (“It has been a month.” [a male member]) “A month? Where did you come from? (“From Seongbuk-dong.”) “Seongbuk-dong?” (“Yes.”) “The first district?” (“At present I am in the first sub-district.”) “And the person behind him!” (“It has been two weeks.”) “Two weeks? In which district are you?” (He answered.)

11

As I spoke briefly a while ago too, this course of Restoration is truly difficult. I do not give you a detailed explanation of its content. If I did, you would be caught by it. In any case, it is such a road as God has struggled along for six thousand years. From the day I knew of such a mission and took responsibility and stepped forth, the Teacher had no other thought. I had no such thought as what to eat and wear.

12

You who are gathered here must know well what Heaven’s heart is. It means that there are times when there are indescribably many such crises in which one can take hold of no one and talk, and cannot lay open one’s circumstances, and can do nothing.

13

Didn't Pak Chan-gyu bear witness the other day?

14

Such that one could take a knife and split open one’s breast…. It means that there are many such crises in which one cannot but be such. It means that on coming to know the Will, one finds that there are many environments in which one cannot act, roads one cannot understand, and facts one cannot explain.

15

From the day the Teacher took responsibility for this Will and stepped forth until now, I have not forgotten it for even ten minutes. Holding a heart of waiting and longing, not one year but ten years; if after ten years it does not end, twenty years; if after twenty years it does not end, thirty years; and if I should give my whole life and come to the moment of dying, I have come forth holding the resolve that I must set up my child and hand over this mission entirely to him and, even at the cost of continuing the generations, accomplish this work before Heaven by setting up some condition.

16

In the midst of that, I have passed through various complicated processes too. This one fact that has come about today (the engagement ceremony) will also seem simple to your eyes. Considered one ceremony, it is a thing that came about within a temporal process of no more than a few tens of minutes, but seen from Heaven’s side, all the winding twists and turns of six thousand years dwell here. Knowing it thus, hereafter, to establish this one Will, you must take the Teacher’s mind again as your model and make this your great task. It will not do unless you cooperate and accomplish this great Will.

17

God’s work is a work of Restoration, and what sort of restoration does the work of Restoration require? It requires complete restoration, complete restoration. It requires complete restoration. As I said the day before yesterday too, in Adam’s age He sought to restore by setting up brothers, and in Esau’s age He sought to restore with twins, and at the time of Perez and Zerah He sought to do it in the womb; and since those standards have been passed through, centering upon those standards, one must next do it centering upon a bridegroom and bride. One must pass through a bridegroom and bride. In passing through, how must one go forward? In the same form as that age just before Adam and Eve fell in olden times, in a one-to-one condition…. You go a course in which you can indemnify many things with a small condition, but from the position of having taken responsibility for the whole, one must indemnify one to one. It means that one must without fail tread upon such conditions from such a winding position and cross over.

18

That is why, in the past, when the Teacher set out upon this road, if the established churches, or the people of Korea, had upheld him, he would not have had such suffering. The Teacher set out upon this road when he was twenty-six, and if the Will had been upheld at that time, Mother would have been chosen at that time. It is not that in choosing, one could not choose because there were no women. It means that to come out as far as the stage at which one can decide, one must come forth having resolved all the historical twists and turns of six thousand years. So one must lay a bridge and resolve this and escape Satan’s conditions, and only then can it be done.

19

That is why, coming forth in that way, the time of youth has all passed. I have come to cross the hill of forty. Even though I have come to cross the hill of forty, because one cannot disregard the principled standard, I decided on a Mother young in years. It means that it will not do unless she is under twenty.

20

So, seen worldly, there are many times when it is sorrowful. When I think that, being advanced in years, I must hereafter consult a person young in years while setting a great work before us, I regard that on one side there is a sorrowful aspect too.

21

Yet even so, it cannot only be so. It means that here, where one can accomplish such work having already greeted the time, there is no face or anything of the sort. Hereafter, whatever one hears said, and whatever it may be, I do not make an issue of it. So you must know it thus and understand my having chosen a Mother young in years in the age of Restoration, and you must cooperate much hereafter. And I hope that you will not go out and speak of it as a boast but will keep it to yourselves.

22

Having done thus today, there will be another such day of confirmation hereafter. At that time, I intend to make rice cake and distribute it to you and so on. After that has passed, I intend to hold a feast for Hyo Won here and a few others. That is why I regard it that, if possible, we must decide our thoughts and move within this month, the month of March. Know it thus, and I hope that you will pray much in your hearts. What I told you the other day to do perhaps was needed at that time. So know it thus, and I think it would be good if you prepare in prayer as your circumstances allow and go forward. Do you understand? (“Yes.”)

23

Now, let us spend today gladly like this, setting aside even the service. This hour is an hour when services are held in every part of South Korea, so let us pray once.
